Miami Heat Reportedly Interested in Sebastian Telfair

Once the Miami Heat brought Greg Oden into the fold, you may have assumed they were finished adding pieces. Not so much. According to HOOPSWORLD’s Alex Kennedy, the defending champs are interested in signing Sebastian Telfair as a back-up point guard: “The Miami Heat continue to express interest in free agent point guard Sebastian Telfair, according to sources close to the situation.”

Related: Nine years into his NBA career, Sebastian Telfair looks back with hard-earned perspective—and a promise that he’s not finished.

Why.. they have Chalmers, and Cole.. Bassy isn’t good anymore :-/

I thought by at this point in the off season, self-claimed “Top 5 point guard int he NBA”, Chalmers would have been traded. Cole and Telfair would be an excellent guard combo for the Heat.

ehh, Sebastian is better than you think. He just hasn’t played on a good team….ever. His Per 36 minute numbers are better than Cole and Chalmers….for example. (although he’s not the defender either guy are).

Get your Bron and Telfair mag covers ready.

Big Game Chalmers stay getting shytted on. Cole is “OK” at best. But Chalmers seems to come through in the clutch.. I Iike Bassy but I’m wondering who hes suppose to replace.

Unnecessary. Cole and Rio have shown to fill in their roles perfectly, forgetting that playoff drought where the entire bench dried out. Why mess with a good thing?

  • ATL dynamite

He’s a more than capable defender still. Never thought that I would say such thing about a 5’11 guy, but his defense is decent.

I know, I never said he wasn’t. The other two are really really good tho.

ESPN is going to have a field day with this.

Ya I just didn’t see a need for Bassy on this team that’s all, I should have clarified that he isn’t good enough for to play on this team in particular anymore being that he’s about 29yrs old no room to grow, and Chalmers/Nole being so far ahead of him (especially defensively) I just don’t see where he would fit. As cool as it would be to have Bron and Bassy on one team it just makes me go mehhh…

It’s definitely “meh” but it doesn’t hurt anyone but Micky Arison

  • RKJ92

Haha (Stephen A Smith voice) “MICKY ARISON IS BIGTIME!”

  • BugEyes

Cole is okay he hit some clutch 3s this year also, and they beat the thunder because he would stay in front of Westbrook instead of Chalmers bum defense on him

  • Reedan

They should add another off-the-bench-momentum-changer like Roddy Beaubois. You never know what you can get from the Heat bench and Beaubois fits right into that + He’s young and ready to be “unleashed”!

    Cole > Chalmers
