Deron Williams Sprains Ankle, Should Be Ready For Camp

The Nets’ season doesn’t begin for nearly six weeks, but one of their guys has already gotten hurt. Luckily, it doesn’t seem too serious. From the Associated Press: “Deron Williams has a sprained right ankle and a bone bruise, but the Brooklyn Nets say their point guard will be ready for the start of training camp. The Nets said Wednesday that Williams was hurt recently while working out in Utah and is wearing a walking boot. Brooklyn has its first practice Oct. 1 at Duke University. Williams struggled through minor injuries early last season and finally sat out a week in February after he was diagnosed with synovitis, which is inflammation of the ankle joint linings. He received platelet rich plasma treatment on both ankles and played much better after the All-Star break, finishing with averages of 18.9 points and 7.7 assists in 78 games.”

the same ankle that was hurt last year for the majority of the season? This is starting to become a chronic injury for Deron.

both his ankles have issues. and they never go back to normal after you stretch them out. So yes, it will be a chronic problem. Just like it will for Steph Curry.

this shows that playing in a bunch of pick up games during the summer is not the only way to get injured. it can happen doing individual or group workouts as well. players just use different ways to work on their games/stay in shape

The season has not even started yet and he is injured.

I’ve always thought that Williams was going to be a MVP candidate for years to come when he played in Utah. I just don’t see that happening anymore.

    pikrovic should:

Flush out his team and Tank. Get 1st pick. and buy a bunch of 2nd round picks

    Sign Lebron, Bosh, and Oden.

Draft Andrew Wiggins, Kasey Hill, Isiah Austin, Lebryan Nash, and couple other veterans

    Starting 5

Kasey Hill, Wiggins, Lebron, Bosh, Oden – dynasty

im just saying that his ankle injuries have been pretty debilitating. Last year his first dunk was in March or something like that if i remember correctly..not trying to say D Will is some high flyer or athletic freak or that he is expected to dunk once every so amount of games, just that these injuries to this particular player shouldn’t really sit well with bball fans. Some of his greatest advantages over other PG’s are being neutralized, this is not a good sign for BK.
