Jared Jeffries Joins Nuggets Front Office

Jared Jeffries spent last season as a reserve for the Blazers, but it looks like his playing days are done. Per Yahoo: “Jared Jeffries, an 11-year NBA veteran, is transitioning out of his playing career and has accepted a front-office job with the Denver Nuggets, league sources told Yahoo Sports. He will begin his post-playing career centered on a scouting role, sources said. Jeffries, 31, has a strong history with new Nuggets general manager Tim Connelly, who worked in the Washington front office when Jeffries played with the Wizards from 2002-06. Jeffries played his final season for the Portland Trail Blazers, appearing in 38 games. In his 11 years, Jeffries had stops with the Wizards, New York (twice), Houston and Portland. Jeffries joins a revamped front office that includes assistant general manager Arturas Karnishovas and director of basketball operations Ben Tenzer. Washington drafted Jeffries with the 11th overall pick in the 2002 NBA draft out of Indiana University.”

I hated him because he somehow managed to secure a Jordan Brand endorsement deal despite being a bum. lol

I don’t understand why more NBA players don’t retire and take cushy front office jobs. Establish relationships with the hire ups while you’re playing, and retire and keep the checks rolling in.

I still have no clue what Allan Houston does for the Knicks, but he has great seats to every game and makes millions. lol
