Joel Anthony Wants To Retire With The Miami Heat

While there’s been speculation that the Heat will try to trade him, Joel Anthony told ESPNDeportes.com that he hopes to retire with the Heat: “Everything always looks better from the top. Joel Anthony is living it up and isn’t thinking about coming down in the near future. After winning consecutive rings with the Miami Heat, the Canadian paints his future in his own way. [...] ‘Of course I want to retire with Miami,” the center pointed out after opening the FIBA Americas 2013 Championship with a win over Jamaica. ‘It’s the team that gave me the opportunity, the team that I’ve played my six years on in the NBA and there’s no reason for me to leave.’”

  • Ben Ireland

It feels like this headline should be 2x NBA champion Joel Anthony.

  • Elliot

I think we can safely say he will as I can’t imagine another nba team would pick him up

is this guy nba level? i don’t see why he’s in the nba quite

  • Björn Atli

seriously though, top 50 needs to start soon.

  • Busta213

He is because of his shot blocking and how well he can rotate in the Heats defensive schemes as their big man. Really, really bad hands on O though.

Trade him to who? Who wants him? Seriously. The Bobcats?

I once threw him a lob in a game and he jumped out of the gym to dunk it.

Now when I see him play I’m always like, “I played with him” and then, “But he was better back then”.
