LeBron James to Reportedly Have a Three-Day Wedding Bash

Miami Heat superstar LeBron James is tying the knot with his longtime girlfriend Savannah Brinson this weekend in San Diego. According to the NY Post’s Page Six, the party will last three days: “Speculation is that the wedding will be held at either the Grand Del Mar or Hotel Del Coronado. The pair, who have dated since high school, got engaged Dec. 31, 2011, and have two children, LeBron Jr. and Bryce. Sources tell us James is planning a smaller wedding than what would normally be expected of an NBA All-Star’s nuptials. ‘He cut the list down because he didn’t want to have 1,000 people at the wedding,’ said one source. It’s also likely to be smaller because it will take place during the Jewish day of atonement, Yom Kippur. But the guest list will still number in the hundreds, we’re told. LeBron’s teammate Dwyane Wade and girlfriend Gabrielle Union, his childhood friend and longtime manager Maverick Carter, Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony and wife La La Anthony and Heat president Pat Riley and head coach Erik Spoelstra are all expected to attend. We hear the festivities will begin with a welcome barbecue on Friday evening before the afternoon wedding on Saturday, which will be followed by cocktails, dinner and dancing to DJs and possibly a live band. Wedding guests will feast at a farewell brunch on Sunday, to close the weekend bash.”

  • true story

    overkill

  • Dfrance

Hey man, if I was young and rich… I wouldn’t get married.

But if I was young and rich and wanted to get married, I have a big extravaganza too!

    LeBron Jr….

    LONG… LIVE… THE KING.
    And his queen…

  • def80s

Does that mean his other Heat teammates did not get a invite, I mean I’d feel a bit left out after that ring I helped him get, especially if I was Ray Allen. And may be a bit awkward in the locker room when congratulating him

  • K_HOLIDAY

Althought I am cool with another ring for the king, this isnt basketball news! I need the season to start already!

  • bike

Whatever. Seems a bit much considering that they have two kids and a relationship since high school. Could have just done the Elvis chapel thing in Vegas to save a buck or two.

  • white hot ebay

How could they have two kids and not be married?

  • K_HOLIDAY

It’s called sex… you should try it sometimes… with someone else

  • MUBWAR

same for me 4 years ago. looool i guess we ain’t lebron.

I highly doubt Lebron needs to save a “buck or two”…plus, if you’re going to get married to someone you’ve been with for 10+ years, you better do it big. It’d be wierd if he didn’t do it big.

  • shockexchange

The wedding is for the woman anyway. The Kang’s role is to write the check and smile incessantly during the festivities.

  • Dfrance

Ever date a woman? After 10 years, 2 kids and no ring… he OWES her this. lol

  • Dfrance

Lmao! They’ve either gotta be 8 years old or 80 years old with that way of thinking.

  • K_HOLIDAY

    Seriously! SMH

  • bike

Yeah, he owes her a ring big time. But, considering she’s been hooked up with LeBron for 10+ years and been to more extravagant parties than most women dream of, a three-day bash to celebrate a wedding is, well, just another party.

Still, to both her and LeBron’s credit, they seem like a great couple and somehow have avoided the nastiness that most nba couples bring on themselves.

  • Shifty

    True Story?

  • mango

for a second i thought i read Lebron was having a wedding with BOSH!

  • JL

Funny how even the reporter left Bosh off the list. Gets disrespected everywhere!

Regardless, this is probably just a formality and should have been done earlier. In California I think it’s common property, which after so many years of being together, she gets half anyway. I am not sure what state he “resides” in, and not sure how it works when you move to different states.
