Rick Adelman Will Return As T-Wolves Coach

There was some uncertainty surrounding Rick Adelman’s future as the Timberwolves head coach this summer. Not anymore. Per the Star Tribune: “There never has been much doubt about Rick Adelman returning as Timberwolves coach, but it wasn’t for sure until he brought his coaching staff out to his home in Portland, Ore., last week and laid out the plans for this season. Wolves owner Glen Taylor confirmed Adelman’s return Sunday. ‘Yes, he did [say he’s coming back],’ Taylor said.”

The Shock Exchange is getting the feeling that Rick Adelman is black. Why else would he keep getting these dead end coach jobs?

I hope the T-wolves do well this year.

Just like Drake said “Started from da bottom now we here”

Adelman finally gets a lineup full of guys who only play offense….is it really surprising he wants to come back?

My Wolves are going to do some serious damage this year…if healthy.

  • LakeShow

    Nope.

He should have some fun with this crew if they stay healthy.

  • LakeShow

I hate having to put the “if healthy” tag on them, but you do…

I know. Every time this franchise gets close to winning or seems to have the roster to do so…an injury happens. Has been that way since 1989.

  • Horry

Unless you are a 15 year old female you shouldn’t know or mention any Drake lyrics. And he didn’t start from the bottom.

  • Mike Gilbert

I’m not convinced. Their defense is a serious concern. No rim protector, no elite perimeter defenders. You’ll be a blast to play as in 2k though.

  • Mike Gilbert

It’s obviously tough to rank Derrick Rose, but what’s your rational for his ranking there? Do you think he is going to come back not quite as good, or is that where you see him at 100%

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

i mean, Tony Parker and Duncan just led their teams to the finals. And unless Rose is going to come in and make an impact defensively, I just don’t think he’ll be better than Harden/Anthony by any sort of margin. The risk of him taking a step back as a result of sitting out for over a year is a little bit higher imo.

LaMarcus Aldridge over Kevin Love? Well, if you say so…

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

we all know how i feel about those 2. i am well aware that my opinion on that is not the popular one. and i refuse to argue my case, because it’s purely an opinion related case.

  • Mike From Spain

I guessed as much… to tell the truth I haven’t watched all that much LMA games to be able to have a formed opinion of his game.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

it’s not something that would have been very evident last season. Terry Stotts has him leading the league in mid range jumpers. And has him playing Center on defense, stripping him of his ability to halt pick and rolls in the hopes that he can protect the rim like a defensive anchor. Which all should at least be adjusted with the moves the team has made this off-season.

  • Mike Gilbert

Is this a ranking of players that help their respective team the most? Or a ranking of the best players? Because if it’s the latter, I don’t see how Tony Parker can be considered better than Derrick Rose.

Also, Russell Westbrook over Rose is questionable too, I mean just statistically, Rose is clearly better.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

LOL, Rose is clearly better statistically? http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/pcm_finder.cgi?request=1&sum=0&p1=rosede01&y1=2011&p2=westbru01&y2=2013 —– uhm, nope. Westbrook actually carries better stats….good try though.

    .

Tony Parker? http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/pcm_finder.cgi?request=1&sum=0&p1=rosede01&y1=2011&p2=parketo01&y2=2013 – pretty close. Parker slightly worse….runs a better offense. Isn’t coming off of an ACL tear……i’m ok with this prediction.

  • AndyK415

Gorgui Dieng could be a rim protector off the bench. Corey Brewer should help on the perimeter.

  • Mike Gilbert

hmm..please enlighten me. I’m looking at eFG%, TS%, AST%, WS…other than rebounding, how exactly is Westbrook better?

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

Well first of all they have different roles in their offense. So Rose’s WS will always be higher. As Kevin Durant eats such a ledge share on his own. Second, their stats are basically even. People would say Westbrooks are technically better because he’s more productive per minute (slightly). Which is most easily summed up by looking at their PER’s. my reasoning is about defense, and again, Rose not playing for over a year

  • Mike Gilbert

Okay that’s fair then. I mean their stats are pretty even I must admit, I didn’t realize that, not giving Westbrook the credit he deserves.

I have high hopes for Derrick this season though, I think he will be better than ever…do I have homer goggles on, yes but still

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

i am not by any means saying Rose won’t be better than Westbrook. I just think it’s a safer bet. But I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Derrick Rose garners another MVP award or jumps back into the 2nd best player in the league discussion.
