Dwyane Wade Feels Stronger and Faster Than He’s Been the Last Two Years

He may have sat out last night’s preseason opener, but Miami Heat superstar guard Dwyane Wade is feeling very good physically. In fact, Wade says hasn’t felt this fast and strong in a couple of years. Per the Palm Beach Post: “I feel my speed is there, my training camp legs haven’t recovered yet so my lift isn’t where I want it to be,’ Wade said. ‘My speed in open court is a lot better than the last two years. Just being stronger, being able to push off quicker, that’s there.’ Wade went to coach Erik Spoelstra about 90 minutes before the game was to tip off to tell him he needed the rest. He plans to play Thursday in Detroit. ‘I pick and choose which games, see how I feel from game to game and I’ll decide if I want to go,’ Wade said. ‘The thing is not overdoing it right now, not pushing it. Last year was hell at certain moments with the pain I was going through. I feel like I worked very hard the last couple of days. I’m going to take it a little easy, a little slower.’ Wade played the final month of the season and the entire playoffs with a bone bruise in his knee. Wade’s improved health has been noticed by LeBron James. When James was asked what has jumped out during camp he immediately mentioned Wade. ‘Just seeing his explosiveness, his quickness, lateral quickness everything,’ James said. ‘He looks healthy, feels healthy and he shows it more than anything on his face when he’s healthy. That’s a great sign.’”
