Kris Humphries Auctioned off Kim Kardashian’s Engagement Ring for $749K

Boston Celtics forward Kris Humphries famously got divorced from socialite Kim Kardashian after 72 days of marital bliss (or something like that). But it’s not all bad for Hump—he auctioned off his ex lady’s engagement ring for a cool $749,000. Per USA Today: “Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries got rid of the insane sparkler he proposed with back in 2011 for an equally insane price at auction Tuesday. The humongous diamond ring was the last lot in the ‘Magnificent Jewels’ auction at Christie’s (Tuesday) morning. It fetched $749,000, far more than the auction house’s pre-sale estimate of $300,000 to $500,000. (At the time of the Kardashian-Humphries engagement, the ring was estimated at $2 million.) A Christie’s spokesperson revealed that the 16.21-carat Lorraine Schwartz bauble ‘saw active participation in the room, on the phone banks, and from Christie’s LIVE. This impressive diamond ring was sought out by two bidders in the back of the room, one online bidder, and was ultimately won by a bidder on the phone.’”

it was estimated at 2 mill at the time of wedding and sold for roughly 700k? could it lose that much value when it was only worn for 70 days

It touched a Kardashian, so yes.

It amazes me that Kardashian did not keep the ring and sold it herself.
