Russell Westbrook May Be Back in Two Weeks

by Marcel Mutoni @ marcel_mutoni

Well, so much for the idea of taking his time to get back on the court. Russell Westbrook might be hooping sooner than anyone had anticipated.

The OKC Thunder star point guard has been impressive in team practices, and reportedly could play again within a couple of weeks:

Oklahoma Thunder star Russell Westbrook has made significant progress in his recovery from a second surgical procedure on his knee and could return to the Thunder’s lineup within two weeks, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The Thunder issued an original timetable of six to eight weeks from Wednesday’s opening night for Westbrook, but barring an unforeseen setback he could be back in the lineup by mid-November.

Prior to hurting his knee in April during the NBA Playoffs, Russell Westbrook had never missed a game during his five-year career.

Having posted regular season averages of 23.2 points, 7.4 assists and 5.2 rebounds Westbrook spent the summer rehabbing from a torn meniscus, and needed a second operation in early October.

  • Sean Superstar Juan

    Cancer? Wow.

  • idk

Being an emotional leader doesn’t make him a cancer. They play soft and lifeless without him. He brings energy and fire to the table. I know he doesn’t have the best body language, but a cancer he is not.
