Lawrence Frank Hiring Lawyers After Demotion By Jason Kidd

You know things are bad in Brooklyn if attorneys are getting involved. Head coach Jason Kidd put Lawrence Frank in the coaching doghouse on Tuesday, and now Frank is reportedly lawyering up. Per the NY Post: “Nets assistant coach Lawrence Frank is in the process of retaining ‘high-powered’ legal counsel, presumably to settle a buyout with the franchise in the wake of being ‘re-assigned’ by head coach Jason Kidd, a league source said. When the Nets hired Frank — a former head coach with the Nets, whom Kidd had publicly pursued to be one of his assistants after taking the job back in June — they gave him a six-year deal worth a total of roughly $6 million, according to league sources, making him the highest paid assistant coach in the NBA. [...] ‘I think [Frank] is still working, so there’s no disappointment,’ Kidd said after Wednesday’s practice. ‘So we move on. It’s part of the job. He’s working. He’s giving his reports … so do I miss him? No. He’s doing his job and what I’ve asked him to do.’”

Did anybody “lawyer-up” when Lawrence Frank stabbed Byron Scott in the back? In the Shock Exchange’s opinion, Jason Kidd and Lawrence Frank made their bed together and they should be made to lie in it.

FrANK stabbed Scott in the back? How so?

The Shock Exchange has a saying for moments like this, “If ya gotta ask …”

  • @iamMrjump

DAM things hit the fan in Brooklyn huh… Kidd I hope this plays out to your benefit but if the Nets continue to suck it’s not going to look good for the future HOF

“Let’s hire Jason Kidd. He’s a veteran who played in today’s league. He’ll bring a fresh perspective. Nothing ridiculous will happen.”

  • Kiddisasnake

I remember when Kidd was bashing the he!! out of Byron Scott and praising how Lawrence Frank “doesn’t even need a playbook”. Now look at them. Kidd is funny. Everyone knows less about basketball than he does when sh!t gets ugly. It’s never his fault smh.

its funny how j kidd is getting away with these subtle shots. “he’s working. he gives his reports” Most people would be pissed off if they were talked to and undermined like that to the media.

Hopefully when J Kidd gets fired he makes a grand exit that will be the cherry on top.

What I most care about regarding the Nets is KG. I’d like to see him go out playing better than this and playing on a better team than this. Same with Paul Pierce too honestly.

Jason Kidd needs years on the bench as an assistant. Look at Brian Shaw and what he’s doing in Denver now. Kidd could use some tutelage. Being an all-time great PG doesn’t necessarily mean you can come off the floor to the bench and run a squad. And as far as Prokhorov and Billy King go, you don’t hire a guy just because he’s friends with your franchise PG.

In the words of nick young and Westbrook, just put a ugly shiny, flashy shirt on and everything will be okay.
neither one if them has ever said that

Your speaking (writing) in the 3rd person is getting old. Sorry

Watching the two New York teams fall apart is so f*cking funny to me.

prok gambled big, and lost big. snake eyes.

To be “frank”, I don’t know why everybody is so high-sprung on Jason Kidd. I don’t mean the player… that resume speaks for itself… but all this high-character-guy talk really is over the top. Kidd will be eating that humble-pie soon enough.

  • Shooting Guard

i love what jason kidd did to people on the court, but clearly he can’t handle this

  • bringbackthesonics

same, every morning i wake up with a smile wondering how they’ve fucked up today

The thought that a former player can just easily translate their on-court leadership skills into a coaching gig within literally months after retirement is laughable. Kidd should have been tutored for atleast 3-4 years as an assistant before getting a head coaching gig. In his mind he is savvy, but his coaching antics (drink spilling) and the way he talks to the media is extremely ametuer.

They probably thought that with all those veterans, they would be able to get by with a coach that is more of their boy and not a sideline general.

  • dotdotdot

Not as funny as watching the next few years of Magic futility.

  • Caboose

Wow what a comeback. Don’t think I’ll ever recover from that one.

  • dotdotdot

Ahh man. You mean I didn’t impress Slamonline’s resident weirdo? Damn. I’m shattered.

  • Caboose

Resident weirdo? Ok, I’ll take that. I’ve been called much worse.

  • Ugh

Hey, what am I, chopped liver?
