Houston Rockets to Reportedly Trade Omer Asik Next Week

It’s obvious that Omer Asik’s days in H-Town are numbered, and according to TNT‘s David Aldridge, the Rockets are looking to deal the big fella next week:

Varejao – Howard combo? interesting. More interesting than Asik – Bynum? lol

Yea.. it’s going to happen soon in case teams wants to re-deal players before the trade deadline.

i dont understand why varejao is a good fit i thought they are looking for a stretch four

wow…Arn Tellem really something, just need couple of days to get it done

Verajao can hit a 17 footer. And Terrence Jones is effectively killing that need, they now just need to stay versatile. Defending the pick and roll is the bigger issue for them.

this can’t be what Omer wants.

Bynum isn’t getting more than 25-30mpg tops.
And Omer isn’t a 30+ minute guy really either.
    Should be perfect.

i thought his whole gripe was sharing the floor with another true Center..Bynum is a true Center nor does Omer want to be a backup. Neither of those guys have PF skills so i dont see how they can share the court together either

  • pposse

how is it perfect if they are gonna be on the court at the same time? or is the plan to not have them on the court at the same time?

Bynum can’t stay on the court for more than 25 minutes a game bud. Pretty big difference, and their system isn’t so reliant on spacing, Asik would have better luck playing with Bynum if they did need to share time.

  • Allan

Asik for Ryan Anderson would be a good trade for both teams

  • pposse

But Asik’s whole thing was that he is a true starting C or atleast I thought so. Granted the two of them in the Cavs system is a better fit than Asik in Houston…your still not explaining how Asik will be happy with this

    He will play a ton.

  • danpowers

True, but: for how long do you expect bynum to stay healthy?

  • LakeShow

They better not want to start them both…

It doesn’t matter even if they do want to start the both. They will quickly learn that they only want 1 of those guys out on the court at a time.

If one plays 25mins. That means there are 20mpg available.

Perfect for two guys that can’t play longer than 30mpg.

I think the rockets should take a chance and do omer asik for jeff green. Maybe the rockets throw in terrence jones to make it work. The celtics although are doing well (in the eastern conference standards).

In reality I’d take Marc Gasol and Hibbert over Dwight. His defensive prowess isn’t really winning factor as people hype it to be.

NOP need a center Houston or i say 76ers have a great players to swap like Lavoy Allen, Moutrie & Hawes. Houston need a great additional backup, PF or C. ^^,
