Post Up: The Mamba Returns

Kobe Bryant plays his first game of the season, while the Knicks forget to show up.

by Jay Wallis | @JayWallis11

Raptors 106 (7-12), Lakers 94 (10-10)

Even though the Raptors were playing without three of their players due to the package deal sending Rudy Gay to the Kings, this game was all about Kobe Bryant’s return, in which he had 9 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 8 turnovers on 2-9 shooting from the field. He was rusty offensively—as should be expected—but also seemed to be in facilitator mode for the majority of the 28 minutes he played. It will take some time, but Kobe should in due time be the Black Mamba once again. For the short-handed Raptors, Amir Johnson (career-high 32 points, 10 rebounds, 14-17 from the field) had a monster performance as DeMar DeRozan (26 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals) continued to perform at a high level. DeRozan is currently one of only 19 NBA players averaging 20+ points this season (21.3 ppg). The normally potent Lakers bench was potent as ever, but the starters held the team back, only accounting for 23 of the team’s 94 points. Pau Gasol (7 points, 8 rebounds, 3-11 from the field) never seemed to find his touch on the night. The Raptors obliterated the Lakers down low, claiming a 62-32 points in the paint advantage.

Celtics 114 (10-12), Knicks 73 (5-14)

Right when the Knicks were starting to show signs of life, they looked dead in front of their home crowd. Losing by a total of 41 points, this was the third-worst New York home loss in franchise history. For the Celtics, this was the largest victory ever for their franchise at Madison Square Garden. From the moment Brandon Bass (16 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals) drew a foul and made two free throws 18 seconds into the game, the Knicks looked flat on their feet. No energy. No hustle. No effort. The Celtics scored the first 12 points of the game, and after an easy Jeff Green (16 points, 6 rebounds, 6-9 from the field) dunk with 3:24 to go in the first quarter, his team led 25-3. All five Celtics starters were in double figures and each had a +/- above 30. Jordan Crawford (23 points, 7 assists, 0 turnovers, 6-12 on 3-pointers) led the offense, Avery Bradley (13 points, 10 rebounds) had his first career double-double and Jared Sullinger (21 points, 9-13 from the field) had a +43, which is the third highest this season. Carmelo Anthony (19 points, 5 rebounds, 5-15 from the field) was the only Knicks starter in double-figures and Metta World Peace (12 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals) was the only Knick in the positives in terms of +/- on the day. Since Halloween, the Knicks have won 1 game at home. Mike Woodson’s seat couldn’t be any hotter. (Just watch this video…there’s no resistance whatsoever.)

Heat 110 (16-5), Pistons 95 (10-11)

The Heat jumped out to a quick 12-2 lead after six straight points from Ray Allen (18 points) and they just continued to build the lead from there. LeBron James (24 points, 9 assists, 7 rebounds, 6 turnovers, 10-15 from the field) did his normal thing, except now has averaged 6.5 turnovers in his last 2 games. He might be getting a little too loose with the ball. The Pistons had 7 players in double figures, led by Andre Drummond (19 points, 14 rebounds) and Brandon Jennings (19 points, 6 assists, 6 turnovers), but this team just let the Heat get whatever they wanted. Pushing the ball all night, Miami had a 26-11 fast break points advantage. Detroit can play very good defense when they decide to work at it but will sporadically have games in which it is nonexistent. Even though they’re only averaging 99.3 points against, the Pistons have given up more than 110 points five times this season. Until Josh Smith (13 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 6-14 from the field, 1-4 on 3-pointers) settles into somewhat of a defined role, this team will continue to have these sporadic no-shows.

Rockets 98 (15-7), Magic 88 (6-14)

Dwight Howard (20 points, 22 rebounds, 3 blocks) celebrated his 28th birthday in style by dominating his former team and teammate. The 6-9 Glen Davis (18 points, 6 rebounds) started for the injured Nikola Vucevic and never stood a chance against Howard. James Harden (27 points, 10 assists, 8 rebounds) flirted with his second career triple-double as Terrence Jones (16 points, 13 rebounds, 5 blocks) continues to shine at the power forward position. Since being inserted into the starting lineup, Jones has looked like a completely different player than when the season first started.  Aaron Afflalo (16 points, 9 rebounds) and the Magic were outscored 83-61 over the first three quarters before trash time in the fourth quarter made this game look closer than it actually was. Houston overcame its 18 turnovers by outrebounding the Magic 60-43 and attempting 18 more free throws than their opponent. However, both teams shot a dreadful 57.1 percent from the line. With Howard being a constant force down low, the Rockets are currently second in the League in rebounds per game (46.7). (I’ve said this since the season started—Jameer Nelson has to be on his way out of Orlando as he doesn’t seem to fit with the current makeup and/or future of this Magic franchise.)

Thunder 118 (15-4), Pacers 94 (18-3)

Paul George (32 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, 0 assists) has been the talk of the NBA town for the majority of this season. Kevin Durant (36 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists) had enough of that, putting on a show for his home crowd. KD hit six of his first seven shots, putting up 14 early points. As Kendrick Perkins (6 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks) put it, “he’s getting tired of hearing about Paul George.” Durant, Russell Westbrook (26 points, 13 assists) and the Thunder brought the Pacers—who just beat the Spurs—back down to earth as they never trailed in this game. OKC shot a blistering 61 percent on Indiana, who came in allowing a League-best 39.8 percent shooting from the field. The 118 points was also an opponent high for the Pacers this season. When Westbrook focuses on being a distributor—which he can be—instead of trying to outshoot his co-star, this offense flows so much better. Serge Ibaka (13 points, 3 rebounds) had his second-worst game of the season rebounding-wise, as his team’s defense continued to have their third quarter struggles in giving up 32 points. But thanks to sixth man spark plug Reggie Jackson (15 points) and this high-powered offense, they continued to put the pressure on Indiana throughout the game. Other than George, Roy Hibbert (12 points, 9 rebounds) and David West (11 points), no other Pacer scored in double figures.

KD has the game on lock right now. Owned it from the get go. Props to the defense OKC, fantastic. Next step for PG is creating for his teammates deliberately. He is actually a good passer.

  • Fan of the game

Will Andre beat Shaq for most doubles posted at 20 years old? Or Dwight for highest rpg at 20 years old? Turnovers LeBron! Will Kobe be the same? To me it doesn’t matter at this point. I feel fortunate to have seen him at the beginning and top of his game. When he defined the word bounce, when scoring 40 became more a chore than a feat. When going against the best guards of that era presented a great chance to test his defensive capabilities as much as his offensive.

  • Fan of the game

Hearing Stephen Jackson to LAC. Don’t know how much he has got left but one of the underrated 2 guards during his time as a Pacer. Had skills at both ends.

  • Fan of the game

Also, have to give props to Ray Allen. At his age, to still be that good and smooth on offense is a testament to how good of a player he is. Those double pump reverses he gets off with that english is sweet.

  • Sérgio

Oh, man, it was pretty amazing to see Kobe fight his way back to play the game he truly love, and the crowd paid a beatigul homage to him.

He was rusty as hell, careless with the ball and kinda afraid of driving hard. That being said, he looked way better than I expected. He wasn’t slow, and blew by the defenders a lot of times. He was average on defense, showing some mobility. I think that, sooner or later, we will have the Mamba back. Maybe not last season’s Kobe, but something closer to the 2010-2011 version, which is still pretty f@cking good.

  • Fan of the game

The article on the mindset of KD and PG from Darnell Mayberry must be checked out. Real interesting.

  • spit hot fiyah

the lakers provided one of the weirdest box scores i have ever seen.

none of the starters shot 50% or better.
4 out of 5 bench players shot 50% or better.

    starters were 1-9 from 3
    bench was 8-19

    starters 6-9 from the line
    bench was 11-11

    no starters in double figures
all bench players in double figures

all starters were at least -12 individually
    all bench players were +

and they played almost the same amount of minutes

Do you think Kobe will be better than Harden this season?

  • Max

    Link?

  • Fan of the game

First time this has happened since 70-71

  • Fan of the game

Sorry man I’m on the mobile. Won’t let me post it. Just go to JA Adande twitter feed. Will be there

  • Sérgio

Well, I think it’s way too early too say. What I said about Kobe above is based on only one game.

That being said, Harden is now worse than last season. All his offensive numbers are down, and he has been one of the worst defenders in the League.

  • pposse

tells me that the starters are getting adjusted to playing alongside Kobe while the system D’Antoni is running might actually be working since the bench who doesn’t play significant minutes with Kobe are comfortable and performing well with the system they have in place.

  • http://signup.divinerenergy.com/ Anthony Dixon

Xavier Henry should demand a trade

  • Stepfan Raiford

Kobe and Z-bo currently have the same vertical.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

D’Antoni repeatedly said Kobe returning “disrupted” the Lakers. Basically everything they have worked towards up until yesterday is for nothing. Gotta start over with Kobe in the lineup.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk
  • Fan of the game

    Thanks for that

  • jakethesnake

his defense already is..especially on ball, i dont understand why people think that guy is worthy of a comparison to kobe smh

  • Fan of the game

How is Kobe going to help this team? As a 25 ppg scorer or as a facilitator and rebounder (act as the MJ ‘utility man’). Kobe one of the best at seeing and assessing multiple layers of defense on a given play (except in the past he has chosen to still shoot over them more often than setting up the open teammate for higher percentage looks.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

it’s hard to say. but i would assume he helps whatever way it works out. i just hope people aren’t counting on him to be a consistent 25ppg scorer, 20 is somewhat reasonable, but either way, the Lakers are going to have an adjustment period. And the overreacting to it in the meantime (to Kobe/D’Antoni/Lakers as a whole) is going to be stupid.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

np, i was actually just reading that when i came across your comment

  • Caboose

Before ANY of y’all tout Kobe as some kind of failure, it was his first game back. He’ll get better. As will the Lakers.

    Dear SLAM,

I would like to bring your attention to a growing problem on the boards, a commenter named Nathan Shane Long. His presence has hampered not only my experience, but others as well, as I’m sure several will be happy to attest to here.

Looking through your rules, which states “Commenters who seek to accomplish any of the following may be banned,” I have determined that Nathan Shane Long has violated the vast majority of them. As a result, I am requesting you to ban him for the good of the site.

As for some examples, the first rule is to not “Personally attack other commenters.” Now, we all get heated sometimes, but the ad hominem words many of us throw at each other are not intended to harm. I have been called stupid, ignorant, nerdy, narrow-minded, elitist, and other similar terms by commenters whom I respect. Does this bother me? No. However, Nathan Shane Long has crossed the line on what I, and several others, deem acceptable. For example, he directly said to me, “You are a typical frail fragile white boy with thin skin lol i know i hurt your feelings and touched your vagina with that one.” This is definitely not acceptable.

Other offenses include calling nbk a “monkey cunt,” addressing the entire SLAM community as ” doubting retarded monkeys,” insulting T-Ray as a “wigger,” and a flurry of “c*nts” directed at a variety of other commenters. I know I speak for the community as a whole when I say that these constant attacks on us both violate the rules of SLAMOnline and hamper our experience.

Another rule for the SLAM boards is to not “Make derogatory comments regarding race, ethnicity, language, gender, sexual orientation or religion.” Nathan Shane Long has violated all of these, on multiple occasions.

Race/Ethnicity: “Like you WHITE BOYS are far bigger nerds then i could ever be being brainwashed basketball stat sites and all these discussing all of you have had over the last couple years are pointless because don’t none of you monkey know what the fucc you all are talking about and that is even before i started posting comments but yet my “stupid” comments caught all of the veteran trolls eyes and attention over the last several months and it never was anyone trying to debate me it was all the well knows lifeless trolls that were attacking me for no reason at all NBK AND LAKESHOW the two biggest nerd cunts on here”

Gender: “You are a typical frail fragile white boy with thin skin lol i know i hurt your feelings and touched your vagina with that one”

Language: “that all you do boy is type paragraph after paragraph of nonsense meaningless stats to somewhat validate you idiotic “opinion” you talking about the Raptors from the 2000-2001 season like you really focus and follow them 13 years ago instead of replying in complete hindsight and retrospect stop being on that NBATV history channel B.S. boy”

Sexual Orientation: “Whatever you and your troll slam boyfriend NBK were the first cunts to troll me months ago as i recall and i just fired back and called you and him exactly what you are TROLLS WITH NO LIFE THAT JUST LOOK AT YOUR COMPUTERS ALL DAY CAUSE YOU HAVE ZERO LIFE and the blind hatred started from that moments on”

Religion: “Just F’N go away brainwashed bible thumper”

These are unacceptable violations of the most basic rules here on SLAMOnline. He has ruined commenting sections.

Need I say anything about his “trolling?” He fits this description as well. His constant attacks against other regulars on this site represent trolling. Specifically, he repeatedly refers to himself as “most hated” or other superfluous descriptions in an attempt to victimize himself. This is trolling, or baiting other people to flame. In addition, he has repeatedly called for insightful commenters here to leave, or to at least stop commenting. This again fits squarely into trolling and therefore, violates the rules here.

In summary, my experience on SLAM has been harmed by Nathan Shane Long’s presence. While I will not list an ultimatum or anything similar, I respectfully request that you ban him from contributing to this site. He has become more than just a nuisance; he is a parasite. If you would like further proof, simply look at whatever his response is to this long comment. To my fellow commenters who have also grown sick of his antics, please do share below as well. I will post this on each Post-Up until I receive a response or action from SLAM.

Thank you for reading, both SLAM and its commenters,

    Alex

  • spit hot fiyah

    which one of them?

  • Nathan Shane Long

Paul George is still a better player than him so and he got off too last night

  • Nathan Shane Long

    Anymore stupid GIF’S NERD

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk
  • Mo

Can you please tell me in what way he is better than durant other than defense?

  • Nathan Shane Long

Obviously the better athlete a better leader on the court

  • spit hot fiyah

unrelated, but can i get a little bit of credit for going half crazy this summer when not one team wanted to give dujuan blair more than the minimum?

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

a better leader? where did you come up with that?

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

definitely. he seems to be worth the mini mid level ($3.5M) — but he is still a major liability on defense. despite how good he’s been playing, he is only getting 21mpg, he’s not more than a role player. And his long term health (per doctor’s) scares the crap out of GM’s —- even though the guy never misses games. i understand why he only got the minimum, but you were definitely right. He deserved more.

  • Caboose

    Dude. Stop. Just ignore.

  • http://soundcloud.com/tray-8 T-Ray

Lol a “wigger” that one made me laugh a little.

  • Caboose

    Lol

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

nah, lol, he isn’t going to be able to bother me. it’s like talking to an angry little kid who doesn’t even realize he’s angry.

  • Nathan Shane Long

Westbrook is the leader the heart&soul the alpha dog on that team

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

    he is?

  • Nathan Shane Long

    Yeah it’s pretty obvious

  • Caboose

Read the Rudy Gay trade thread. NOTHING you say will get through. He’s trolling. Period.

  • http://soundcloud.com/tray-8 T-Ray

I think nbk can vouch that I’m definitely not a “wigger”cuz he follows me on twitter lol and I’d rather laugh at those comments. I don’t want to get into specifics on what I do for a living but I guarantee those comments wouldn’t be said to my face.

  • Mo

I think he is right they looked lost without russ thefirst couple of games.

  • http://soundcloud.com/tray-8 T-Ray

I read that whole thread and you both are very entertaining my friend. You gave your whole bio bruh lol

  • Nathan Shane Long

    I stay right

  • Caboose

Lol I appreciate that. And I really don’t care. I mean, it got him stalking my Facebook page, but honestly, it’s all stuff I’ve said here before, just never concentrated in one place.

  • Caboose

Randolph’s vert has dropped to a negative number. If he goes up half an inch, he’ll compress the floor like 3/4 of one. Negative vert.

  • Nathan Shane Long

How is it stalking and you page is PUBLIC

  • http://signup.divinerenergy.com/ Anthony Dixon

    so should Kobe

  • http://soundcloud.com/tray-8 T-Ray

Yeah I know I just thought that part was funny. Regardless what any of us put on here he’s not going to believe us. It’s whatever though man I find him entertaining to the site.

  • Max

You’re not making much sense here.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

uhm, he is instrumental to their success. and he drives the pace of the team with his style of play.

    - they were 2-1 without him. only game they looked “lost” was against Minnesota. one bad game proves Shane right, that Westbrook is the leader, and “alpha dog” on the team?
    .
seems like they share responsibilities. Durant being the best player, and given the most responsibilities, it’s hard to say Westbrook is more important.
    .
For instance, if Durant went down with injury, you think the team struggles more than it did without Westbrook? I sure don’t.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

    It is?

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

oh i read it. i am not trying to get through to him. you won’t even see me try to correct anything he says.

  • Caboose

Shock I find entertaining. That Adding Velocity guy CAN be entertaining. This dude is just an @$$hole.

  • Stepfan Raiford

    hahahaha negative vert.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

i don’t think anyone is a “wigger” — infact, i think that term in itself is all kinds of awful and ignorant. let alone you, a young black man who in no way seems to be trying to be someone he’s not.

  • Caboose

    Thank you

  • http://soundcloud.com/tray-8 T-Ray

Shock is mad funny to me. Adding Velocity is just a random @$$ dude who seems knowledgable on other things not concerning basketball. I mean Nathan is cool in the military we sling insults worse than what he’s saying lol

  • http://soundcloud.com/tray-8 T-Ray

Exactly why it didn’t bother me. I mean I know who I am and I’d rather not argue with this guy.

  • Nathan Shane Long

Durant is the better scorer and jump shooter but overall including defense Westbrook is the more complete two way player the thunder respond to Westbrook more so than Durant Westbrook could go elsewhere and be a solo star and elevate a team to elite status while if Durant was by himself he would lead the league in scoring that team would fall off

  • Mo

Ofcourse they will struggle more, westbrook is the heart and soul of that team and I think you can see that the way plays not necessary in one game, but durant is much better basketball skill’s wise. Yes they will struggle more without durant than westbrook you’re right. But durant shares leadership with westbrook PG doesn’t have anybody he shares leadership with or maybe I don’t whatever sorry bye

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

    uh?
Durant is better, but Westbrook is the “alpha dog”?

Westbrook is the heart and soul, but the team is better with Durant?

i never said Durant doesn’t share leadership with Westbrook, and Westbrook being involved has nothing to do with who is a better leader between Durant and George. I’m just responding to what Shane said, which, even though you agreed with him, just agreed about all the ways it contradicts the perspective.
    .
i have been trying to express how valuable Westbrook is to that team since before he got hurt, and since said injury, his importance has been magnified to the point where people like Shane (and Rich Bucher) think Westbrook is not only more important, but better than Durant. Which hopefully, the rest of us can see is just nonsense.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

Durant is a significantly better scorer. A significantly better offensive player. And he’s actually a pretty good defender, his length causes tons and tons of problems, Westbrook is better on that end, but it isn’t drastic.
    .
either way, both perspectives are an opinion, so telling me what would happen with Westbrook leading a different team means absolutely nothing …. you know that right?

  • Nathan Shane Long

you wrong save yourself by posting another stupid gif since that is your lame ass gimmick

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

    i am?

  • Mo

Durant is a much better player he is the second est player in the league. And I think durant makes up for his lack of heart and soul with his great basketball skills I mean the thunder are much more fun to watch with westbrook on the court and they play with more heart more inspired (just what I see)even if they are not a better team than when the thunder are without durant just my opinion if my english is bad I am sorry it’s my third langauge

  • Mo

    Lol

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

his lack of heart and soul? where are you getting these ideas from? did you see what Durant did to Paul George last night? he did that because,

QUOTE: “He came out with a vengeance,” Thunder guard Reggie Jackson said of Durant. “I think he’s tired of hearing about it, too. Whatever got him going, though, I’m happy we got the win.”

in reference to the talk about Paul George being a better player.
    .
Lack of heart and soul doesn’t = dismantling the best defense and perimeter defender in the league

  • Mo

    But it’s not consistant enough

  • Mo

What I just said is stupid sorry you are absolutely right

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

what isn’t? they won their division 3 years straight. He’s been a top 2 scorer for the last 4 years. – plus, despite scoring so much, he’s been one of the most efficient scorers of all time over the last 4 years. I don’t think “inconsistency” is even part of the problem.

  • Mo

    True my bad

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

no stress man, i’m not trying to make you feel wrong or anything. just trying to discuss my POV. i could be missing something here, i just don’t see what it is.

  • Max

    Appreciate it.

  • http://signup.divinerenergy.com/ Anthony Dixon

    how?

  • Max

Players like Xavier Henry don’t demand trades for getting benched at the end of games.
Yea Kobe should be happy but ofcourse he is in the league.

  • Sérgio

Well, it’s more of a hope than of an expectation, but, by my impressions for his first game, I think he can do that. Also, let’s not forget that he is 20 pounds heavier than last season, so, once he drops a few of them, he will get quicker.

  • Caboose

I think what you’re gonna find is that he might put up 25-5-5 for the last month. Maybe. But until then, he’ll have like 2 months of 15-4-4, 3 months of 20-5-5, then he’ll get to where you hope. Assuming he stays injury free, which I REALLY doubt.

  • http://signup.divinerenergy.com/ Anthony Dixon

i would be upset that i got benched especially when i was hot. I know kobe is the laker god but i would have been pissed.

  • LakeShow

    “SOME “TYPE OF WAY”

That type of way would be that you’re clearly an idiot that has no semblance of intelligence. Make points and back them up with facts and we’ll all leave you alone lil buddy.

You didn’t make any points. You just try to inflame everyone… Or in other words be a troll.

  • Caboose

Everywhere I read, it’s stuff like “Kobe will be the Black Mamba again,” or “Give him time, he’ll get back to where he was.” Why? Why is it some kind of given that Kobe will somehow get back to 27-5-5 form? EVER? I’m not saying he won’t but that sh!t is so damn far from a foregone conclusion, I just don’t understand the mindset.

  • pposse

MAYBE the fact that RW is proving a case for best PG in the league.

  • bike

Kobe didn’t do so bad…however he didn’t live up to that ridiculous star-wars introduction. On the other hand, no one could have.

  • spit hot fiyah

good thing that u are not in a position to demand a trade then

  • http://soundcloud.com/tray-8 T-Ray

Dude don’t do it to yourself lol

yeah defense is not his thing that’s for sure, but he has been efficient when he is on the court and just took dalembert’s job. but i agree on midi mid-level, that seems fair. i never thought he would be more than a role player. i just thought he would be able to show what he is made of once he got out of SA, and those years spent there (partially glued to the bench) was a major plus for him. he got to learn from some of the best in the business. i’m pretty sure the clippers would trade mullens for him straight up at this point. that’s all i was trying to say in the summer

and i am much more of an eye test guy than a stats guy, sometimes to my detriment. but this time i was on the right side

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

Ugh wanna elaborate on your rationale?

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

Yeah, you definitely hit the nail on the head on this one. Touché my friend.

  • LakeShow

Take off 5ppg and that is exactly where he’ll be at years end.

Off course he won’t be the same ole Kobe, but to think he can’t produce at an elite level is pretty naive.

What do you think he’ll end the year at? Obviously no one knows, but what’s Caboose thinking?

I don’t think any one thought he’d be back to 27-5-5.

  • spit hot fiyah

henry also only played 5 mins less than that his season average. not that big of a deal

  • LakeShow

haha, this guy is nothing but fodder.

  • Caboose

I think he’ll be at about 22-5-5 IN THE LAST MONTH. About 20-5-4 on the season.

  • spit hot fiyah

    indeed

  • LakeShow

Those are very fair and realistic expectations.

  • pposse

i already have him at second best, imo his assists are around 6.5 cause of Durant. KD is a volume efficient scorer, which guys like CP3 do not play with at all. the argument usually is along the line that CP is a superior playmaker but thats not what RW is necessarily tasked with. If KD were off the team i can see RW’s assist increase by atleast 2 more per probably 3 assister per game.

  • Caboose

    Thank you

  • http://soundcloud.com/tray-8 T-Ray

Lol it’s funny to me man.

  • Fan of the game

    That a Lakers starter didn’t score in double figures and;
that the bench of the Lakers outscored the starters by such a margin (48 points).

  • Fan of the game

    Yes, agreed.

  • CCT

You, for real, still put up with these children? Lol. I just read through this stuff and just laughed.

  • LakeShow

I want to know why didn’t they keep them both in.

    Stupid coaching decision imo.

  • LakeShow

Told ya’ll this team is weird.

They were still in the game is the funny part.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

hey now! ehh, it’s a lot more tedious then it ever was, but let’s not act like everyone was mature and intelligent back in the day lol..

  • CCT

Come on…..we were never malicious like that. And no one was calling people white boy or ethnic slurs.

  • http://soundcloud.com/tray-8 T-Ray

This much is very true. We tried to get under each other’s skin but never spouting racial/ethnic slurs.

  • LakeShow

He’s arguably the best 6th man in the L.

His 10ppg don’t warrant it, but his dead eye shooting is unbelievably important to the Heat.

    Like Astronomically important.

Jamaal Crawford and JR Smith etc. cannot give the sustained reliability of shooting beyond the arc like Ray can.

He’s at 38% on 3′s right now, but was at 44% the last three seasons. Either he is slowing down a bit or just working into his groove.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

ok first of all, i am not really arguing that you can make a case for Westbrook as “in the conversation” as best PG. i wouldn’t give him that distinction, he’s still a little bit too wild to be considered better than Paul imo, but i understand that argument. my issue is more with the, “because he may be the best PG, he has a case as the best/most important player on the Thunder” argument.

don’t you think without Durant …… everything would close up around Westbrook? maybe his assists would increase strictly because defensive attention would key in on him, but probably his shooting would drop to the 39% range, his turnovers would increase….and the team would win significantly less with him as its best player. A lot of the reason Westbrook can play the way he plays without actually hurting the team relies on Durant being able to “right the ship” so to speak with his Über efficiency. His play hides a lot of the Thunder’s flaws because it allows everyone else to play within themselves, but it is also reliant on Durant to produce at an extremely high level with significantly less touches.

I agree with everything you said 100%. He needs to go. I don’t care what race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation you identify with. This guy needs to go… I also think you should be banned as well for taking your weird, childish obsession with shockexchange to a creepy level with writing that fake review. It may not have happened on Slam, but what you did was mean spirited cyber stalking. Both of you bring down the quality of conversation on this site.

  • AddingVelocityDontTellMe

Bro chill man ppl make mistakes and come from different backgrounds

  • LakeShow

He didn’t look to good on the Spurs in his most recent stint.

    6ppg on 6 FGA in 20mpg…

BUT, he’ll always up the ante in the playoffs is what you like about him.

If he can focus on being a D, and 3, role player he could be very nice for them.

  • Caboose

    Fair enough.

  • Caboose

    A mistake happens once.

  • LakeShow

Awesome part with him is you know he has more to give.

  • AddingVelocityDontTellMe

ok but his rude etiquette may be a byproduct of environment. Instead of kicking out maybe good conversation skills will rub off. dont alientate @nathanshanelong

  • Caboose

    He’s gotten worse, buddy.

  • LakeShow

That was what we call a mistake.

    And a forgivable one.

Shock probably would admit to instigating that, if he could come just come down off his lofty steed for a moment.

  • Caboose

    I appreciate that.

  • Fan of the game

Just a great NBA pro. HOF. Who would have thought 10-12 years ago that Ray would have a better career than VC (and possibly TMac depending on how one defines a successful NBA career).

  • Caboose

Why wait so long to call me out? If you felt this way, what stopped you? I’m always here man, you can just tell me.

  • turner

I hope that “environment” reference was to his own household, and not some ignorant, condescending generalization of people of a certain socio-economic background. That would make you just as bad as him.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

oh well this place was constantly read by SLAM writers back then tho, you guys had people like that, their IPs just got banned right away. this guy has been out here commenting like a lunatic for a few weeks now, and there has not been anything done about it….i don’t think it’s the community as a whole that’s that much different…just how it’s policed.

  • AddingVelocityDontTellMe

If you have read any of my comments, you’ll know I am far from racist and anyone on this site can vouch for that

Racism is a form of Jahili. Your and My final Messenger Muhammad Peace be Upon him stated that in the FINAL SERMON

DO you remember who posted this clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRNCpD3xhsY

This is why I believe an ideological change needs to happen in the America because Christianity caused this racial divide and oppression. Look at the false racial depictions of a pagan god.

  • turner

I didn’t. Slam kept blocking my comment even though I didn’t curse or use any slurs. I tried to post like three times. Got peed off because I felt the mods weren’t being fair with the kind of comments they let through.

  • Caboose

There have ALWAYS been nutjobs. And there always will be. SLAM’s interest in the commenting section has jut nosedived, is the problem.

  • LakeShow

    Yes^

  • Caboose

Ah, that’s a shame. I accept responsibility for that, it was childish and stupid.

To remedy it, I immediately pulled the fake review after leaving it up for approximately 6 minutes. I know this doesn’t make up for it, but it was the easiest way to rectify a mistake.

The difference between myself and Nathan is the issue of repetition. I doubt you could find a commenter here who hasn’t violated the rules of SLAM. But they do it either once or sporadically. Nathan’s is continuous. This is the difference, and it is why I speak out now.

If this distinction isn’t acceptable to you, let me know.

  • AddingVelocityDontTellMe
  • turner

It wasn’t a mistake. You put an abnormal amount of energy into getting personal about a guy a website. Of course the other guy with the same strange personal grudge doesn’t find what you did so bad. He’s cut from the same cloth.

  • Caboose

Abnormal amount of energy? Please explain.

And attack me if you want, but Lake is not a part of this. This holier-than-thou attitude only works on the guy yo’re attacking, not bystanders.

  • turner

I don’t disagree at all with anything you said.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

it wasn’t a mistake because of how egregious it was? maybe he didn’t think it was as bad as it was until someone pointed it out? i mean, haven’t you ever made a mistake that seemed pretty damn obvious in hindsight? he took responsibility for it, took it down, and apologized to Shock in a matter of 10 minutes after being called out. i’d say those actions are the epitome of how a person should react after a mistake….

  • Caboose

Then the issue becomes, is a single mistake bannable? I think not. I think a ban is only warranted when a PATTERN of behavior is exhibited. Would you consider this fair?

I think even the most egregious commenting infraction, if it happens once, is forgivable if it’s not a part of a pattern.

    Would you agree?

  • Caboose

I appreciate that. But don’t go after him, he’s being reasonable and I can fight my own battle.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

i am hardly interested in defending you. lol, it’s just about his reasoning. i felt like i would be able to illustrate the point i wanted to make a little better than whatever you were going to say. no offense.

  • Caboose

Or at least appear more objective than me.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

    yeah, that’s what i mean.

  • LakeShow

    Yep!

I lived in Seattle for a few years while he was on the Sonics and he was an absolute professional and a joy to have as the franchise piece.

Pure mastery of certain portions of the game.

  • Caboose

But dude, why is that a justification for anything? If I could just say “oh, it’s my upbringing” after every sh!tty thing I do and be excused from it by people like you, why wouldn’t I just go steal a Bugatti?

Oh, it was my environment that taught me it was ok and necessary.

  • Caboose

    Fair.

  • turner

You made up an identity, thought about how you wanted to bash the guy’s book that you’ve never read, then posted it. Then you came back here to brag about it. That’s far too much energy for a basketball site’s discussions to make you use just to piss a guy off. Lakeshow has a personal problem with the guy. I consider that being cut from the same cloth. I’ve seen him wine about up votes for him. No one should care that much. I used to comment sporadically a couple of years ago. Not so much anymore. Too much ignorance and catty behavior. Nathan is a huge reason I barely read Slamonline anymore.

  • Caboose

The one thing I would contend about this would be the use of the word “bring.”

You say both I and Nathan “bring down the quality…”

This implies BOTH of us are continuously doing so.

Not true, in my mind. Whereas his caustic effect on the community is ongoing, mine was a single (admittedly large) transgression.

So I “brought” down the quality of conversation, I am not actively “bringing” it down.

Unless you think I’m an idiot about basketball too, but that’s a whole different discussion.

  • turner

His apology was the right thing to do. But I won’t pretend like it still doesn’t perplex me as to why he’d do it in the first place.

  • Caboose

    Before addressing that, one thing:

    See this SLAM?

“Nathan is a huge reason I barely read Slamonline anymore.”

    Ok, on to this.

It took me about 5 minutes. I’ll bet it took you about that long to type the comment I’m replying to right now. By that logic, are you also not spending too long obsessing over someone you don’t like?

    I’m not saying you are.

You ever watch The Office? I know it’s fictional but roll with me. Jim pranks Dwight a lot. Dwight is an arrogant, uptight, look-down-on-everyone sociopath. Sound like someone here? Anyways, Jim puts a LOT of effort into pranking Dwight. Sometimes they’re funny. Sometimes they go too far.

Would you consider that malicious? Or consider him a bad person? I’m not even saying Dwight deserves to be pranked. He doesn’t. Neither does Shock. But my point stands. It wasn’t as though it was a missile out of nowhere. It was the progression of “pranks” beyond an acceptable line. A line I recognized.

That’s my defense. My defense of why it’s not a pattern of behavior.

  • Caboose

You did read the whole conversation right?

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

because he still has lessons to learn, as all of us do. that’s my assumption. just a really dumb mistake.

  • Caboose

Of course it was a really dumb mistake. But it wasn’t like me trying to cover up a lamp I broke. I told Shock what I did. And I did everything I could to remedy it.

  • turner

I guess you have a good point there.

  • Caboose

I don’t want to be thought of as a bad person, that’s all.

My defense isn’t along the lines of “well we all make mistakes, so who cares?”

No, it’s that I recognized the mistake and tried my best to atone for it. And regardless of the infraction, it was singular. Even if there were steps to the process, it was still just one thing.

Will I ever do anything like that again? Of course not. I’ve learned, and I think that is something truly key about mistakes, the learning.

    Is that fair?

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

i know man, like i said, you realized it right away. clear sign you genuinely realized it was a mistake. it was still really stupid lol, don’t get defensive. I did it when i made that Richard Jefferson comment a couple years ago. live and learn.

  • Caboose

Sorry, didn’t mean to come off defensive. More clarifying for Turner.

  • turner

I’m not opening your link. All I’m saying is, don’t try to excuse away his behavior by assuming he’s from a certain background, so he doesn’t know any better. That’s insulting and bigoted whether you acknowledge it or not.

  • turner

    Yup.

  • AddingVelocityDontTellMe

because what appears normal to him is different. Rather prove to him an absolute moral standard exist. So he knows there is such thing as good and bad @nathanshanelong:disqus @turner

  • Caboose

Ok. Assume I was brought up to assume that stealing is completely ok. In fact, my whole community shaped me to believe that murdering someone is just fine when you don’t like them.

Now let’s say I just murdered someone because they didn’t like my new shoes.

Would you say it’s completely fine because that’s what I’ve been raised to believe?

You’re playing the slippery slope fallacy, so I’ll play it right back.

  • Fan of the game

That is awesome, loved watching that team. I wish i was in that position, would have been a good time and place to get a bball education. Did underrated good in 05 against Spurs. Game 6 was brilliant but just fell short.

  • turner

Not at all. You cannot simultaneously obsess over something or someone that you clearly avoid to the result of an ‘out-of-sight-out-of-mind’ outcome. That’s actually the exact opposite of an obsession. My dislike of his comments is on my mind exclusively when I visit Slam, which isn’t very often.

I wasn’t comparing the frequency of the behavior as much as I was the egregiousness of incidents. The difference is that you don’t defend your bad behavior.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

word, it’s nbd either way. i understand getting defensive when this was already hashed out. it’s not like you made the same mistake twice. or…… every. single. day. since.

  • turner

    Totally.

  • pposse

i dont disagree with anything you said, just there never has been a duo quite like RW and KD in the history of the game. There is nothing to compare them to which is cool. They should just be called the yin yang twins for if there is a yin there must be a yang. KD the calm cool super efficient and collected one and then there is the heart, volume and ferocity. I dont think its as simple as people make it out to be is all.

  • Caboose

That’s fair. So what problems do you still have with my commenting?

  • Caboose

    Much appreciated :)

I actually really enjoyed our conversation, I thank you for that. It’s something that is becoming rarer and rarer here, unfortunately.

  • Caboose

    Lol.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

yeah, it’s definitely not simple. your comment brought something up in my head,
    .
this team had both of the extremes (efficiency / recklessness) and they also had the medium (efficient recklessness) in James Harden. it is such a bummer that they gave that up.

  • AddingVelocityDontTellMe

No i don’t believe that nor did I state that.

I know an Absolute Moral standard exists set out by the Uncreated Creator according to the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah regardless of whether human beings follow it or not. i.e no alcohol, no pork, no interest-banking, no gambling, no adultery, etc.

However, @nathanshanelong:disqus doesn’t know that an absolute moral standard exists.

I don’t see why Murder in your example is Morally wrong. You have no standard except the Federal/State law. But how many elites perform those actions without judicial consequence. How many dictators, investment bankers perform murder, rape, stealing.

See @disqus_oxoGJMLagc:disqus you hold yourself back out of fear of the consequence. The idea that moral standard is do unto others like you would like to do unto yourself is NONSENSE. IF you only know that this life is the ultimate reality, then you’ll do whatever it takes to make sure you are peaceful, happy, enjoying. Look at those with Power and Celebrity. Giving charity because you pity someone is foolish. Save your money for a rainy day. Unless giving charity makes you happy.

out of curiosity, when its late at night do you run red lights when no one is watching? Is time precious to you?

  • Nathan Shane Long

    Just watching.

  • pposse

yeah giving up Harden was dumb. Before I thought it was a cap issue but then they signed Ibaka to a big deal. Doesnt make sense, but the Thunder would have had great ball players with completely different mentalities. it would have been real interesting to see what would have happened.

  • Nathan Shane Long

Yeah right i have really turn up the viciousness of my attack on these nerd ass troll I really doubt HAVING A BAN “NATHAN SHANE LONG” PETITION IS GOING TO WORK

It’s a fact that Kyrie is the best PG in the East?

Naw man. You’ve got some wild projections though…

  • Nathan Shane Long

really juvenile “gay” jokes now huh?

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

well i know what the rationale was.
    .
    the choices were,

    Ibaka or Harden
    .
they chose Ibaka because they figured it’s harder to find a shot blocker of that caliber that doubles as a pick and pop power forward then it is to find a great 6th man.
    .
but from my point of view, you never trade your 3rd best player because your 4th best is of a more rare mold.

  • AddingVelocityDontTellMe

I don’t see what’s preventing your from murdering the individual. What is the “absolute moral standard” “do unto others as you do want done to yourself”. That’s for the lambs to follow. I am sure you realize that any person with any intellect doesn’t follow those principles absolutely. There moral standard is due whatever makes them happy.

How many dictators, investment bankers, politicians murder, rape, steal, etc with no consequence. See many naive and gullible individuals practice this philosophy of treat others how you want to be treated, but in reality any logical person realizes thats nonsense. What’s the point of giving charity(save your money for a rainy day).

The inability to get away with it? Only fools fear the law. What holds sociopath back – the consequence of the law but if they are smart enough well you know how that goes.

This is why I use to believe religions were constructed to maintain order, for those intellectually weak and couldn’t survive the world who needed order. I mean the CHURCH did it.

However, when I studied Islam I know for a fact an absolute moral standard exists from the Uncreated Creator via the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah… No matter what interest-banking is wrong, eating pork is wrong, drinking alcohol is wrong, adultery is wrong, wearing immodest clothing is wrong, etc

Basically what you’re saying is “those people just don’t know any better”. Spare us the condescending, sweeping indictments. His words are a reflection of his own character. At most he is a reflection of the people who raised him. You can find his type of ignorance in every type of community, regardless of race or economic class. The thing I remember about that thread is that you were arguing with someone called “John Wilkes Poop”. wtf

  • pposse

yeah and lately its been proven that small ball can win championships in the NBA a la Miami Heat. The Thunder could have been ridiculous with the trio of Harden RW and KD. FA’s journey men etc would all want to play there. Kind of makes me wonder if Harden was as ‘innocent’ in the whole thing as he claims or if he really did want to build his own legacy in Houston. A friend of mine was saying how Harden was real tight nit with the community out there in OKC..oh well i guess its all just speculation now. FYI Harden loves girls with abnormally big booties. Now with the way the Thunder are constructed I dont have them making it to the finals, my early season pick out west are the Spurs probably like everyone else.

  • pposse

its impossible to play defense in the nba nowadays. There are so many rules, so many infractions and ‘safefty’ issues it seems like even if you are a better two way player your still not necessarily a better ball player in the NBA. Look at Harden for example, sites sports columnists etc all have a guy that pays zero defense as the best sg in the league.

  • pposse

yo i saw some of that game yesterday and it didn’t seem like it was easy for kobe to even get a shot off..first game tho but if Kobe still has the same scorers mentality he always had and he jacks up shots he might be a regular on shaqtin a fool.

  • pposse

if D’Antoni has to switch up his gameplan now that Kobe is back, then I wouldn’t have much faith in that claim. Kobe might get better, but the Lakers eh we shall see

  • LakeShow

    I watched the entire game.

He got off 5 of his 9 shots with perfect execution. He just missed them.

It appears to be just a matter of getting up to game speed, getting comfortable with his new legs, and the Lakers making some adjustments to cater to his new style.

It reminded me of Roses first game back. You see why he’s a superstar one play, and then see why it’s his first game back in 8 months the next.

Nothing really to take away from game one. Just as the case was with Rose. (Don’t forget KB has a great post game to go to if he can’t find his rhythm on the perimeter.)

mainly that there is no such thing as a wigger. being black isn’t a lifestyle. being white isn’t a lifestyle. the issue is with ignorance. which you bare a huge portion of. you need to just learn to keep your opinion to yourself, or to at least look at subjects from a more broad perspective then that of your own. the constant ignorance you have exhibited over the last few days commenting unintentionally contradicts a lot of the beliefs you are trying to push on everyone else.

I’ll take it a step further. The biggest problem is what the word implies, which isn’t even that a white person is “acting” black–whatever the hell that means. The implication is that the white person is acting like a n—-r, which somehow has become an acceptable word to be used interchangeably with the term ‘black’. It’s just an offensive term all the way around. Replacing a w with an n and referencing a white person doesn’t make it less offensive.

    Yes, well said.

  • AddingVelocityDontTellMe

Please stop using words like “belief and faith”. Instead substitute for word KNOW. This world is full of entertainment and especially in our civilization. it entrenches the human hearts causing ppl to forget the pursuit of truth.

I have no desire to compulse or force anyone to accept Islam. BUT I HAVE A STRONG DESIRE TO MAKE PPL AWARE THAT THEY SHOULD CRITICALLY AND OBJECTIVELY EXAMINE RELIGIOUS TEXT THAT CLAIM TO BE THE WORD OF THE UNCREATED CREATOR.

I wrote this to @danpowers: “this is where I disagree with you. I agree that human beings must be tolerant in behavior but when tolerance comes to ideas then the PURSUIT OF TRUTH GETS MASKED. There can only be 1 truth. Being tolerant to ideas prevents humans from critically and scrutinizing one another’s claims at veracity. Why do you think it’s MORALLY SUPERIOR to take a secular approach to religion. Is it fear of hurting peoples’ emotions?

No matter whether you know now or in a different existence, you are brother in humanity to me.

Juice mayne. Look up redlining. Ask yourself why is every major city in America or city for that matter divided into two halves Black /Poor and White/Rich.

Christian Oppression. If they stopped depicting a FALSE RACIAL IMAGE OF JESUS peace be upon him don’t you think that would have prevented a lot of racial oppression.

Many people are unaware of the DOCUMENTED REALITY VERSUS THE HUMAN REALITY. How many people know of Martin Luther King Jr’s plagirism tendencies? How many people know of Ghandi nonpacifist approach? How many people really studied the books instead of believing what they hear? It’s not paranoia or conspiracy. Study the documented history. Study the origin of ideas.

Stop making ignorant assumptions. And please stop thinking your helping “the cause” by spamming us about Islam. Call it whatever you want, but ramming it down our throats isn’t helping.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

Study more than what your book tells you to be true.

  • AddingVelocityDontTellMe

I don’t understand where you get this assessment from my comment.

  • AddingVelocityDontTellMe

“ignorant” you need to provide me some evidence objective evidence instead of acting as if you are on the high ground. How do you know your absolutely on the truth and my claims are incorrect? What substantial evidence do you. Or are you going to group all religions into the idea that religions are just an opiod social controlling tool. Stop superimposing christianities history on Islam.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

You just ignorantly assumed my take on religion. If you need an example, you just supplied one.

Antoni is terrible at building an offense around 1 or 2 guys and filling in the holes. And defense.

  • AddingVelocityDontTellMe

Instead of focusing on the medium providing the INFORMATION focus on the information’s veracity.

The material used to deliver the INFORMATION does not have an impact on the Veracity of the information.

  • AddingVelocityDontTellMe

You do realize that what I am saying is not insane. How many books have entered the human domain with the Title “WORD OF THE UNCREATED CREATOR”… How can you just DISMISS the claims without examining the evidence? I am surprised that most human beings are searching for Alien life but yet A non human entity has communicated with the human world and yet no one cares to examine if it is True or not.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

plenty of people have examined if it’s true or not. and i never said it was, or wasn’t. but you clearly are speaking from a place of ignorance. and i’m not speaking about whether or not you are right about the world and its god.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

this has nothing to do with anything i’ve said. but thanks for trying, once again, to shove Islam on me.

  • AddingVelocityDontTellMe

That’s not true. I’ve hit a mute point. And before mannerisms become inappropriate I must conclude this conversation.

  • AddingVelocityDontTellMe

Please re-read what you wrote. Do you even understand the magnititude to claim something is the WORD of the Uncreated Creator. Do you understand the magnititude of existence of Day of Judgement, Heaven and Hell?

Plenty ppl hae examined if it’s true or not? Who cares about what ppl have done. Do your own homework examine and cross reference from all sides.

I am not forcing Islam on you that’s nonsense. I am forcing you to think about the idea of skipping on 1 or 2 2hr nba games and reading about religious text and examining the veracity

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

it’s 100% true. unless you are referring to material outside of Islam for me to focus on, whether you realize it or not, that is exactly what you are doing.

  • AddingVelocityDontTellMe

Please look at my other comment. YES i want you to cross reference all different disciplines.

Anyone can produce book and claim its true. OBJECTIVE EVIDENCE is needed to substantiate the veracity.

How do you know hogwarts doesn’t exist? Besides the fact that the author labelled it fiction. But for agruments sake there is no tangible reproducible way to know hogwarts exist or doesnt exist

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

saying evidence is objective doesn’t actually make it objective……you do understand that don’t you?

  • AddingVelocityDontTellMe

That’s false. For example, It is universally a fact that Oxygen is the element used by the mitochondrial electron transport chain.

Objective evidence definition: no matter how one test the evidence the results will always be the same regardless of the observer and experimentation

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

and what evidence that supports Islam has been proven factual ….. outside of Islamic influence? ….. i’ll wait. and please don’t tell me, show me. You know, literally, post the fact from an unbiased source.

  • AddingVelocityDontTellMe

“You know, literally, post the fact from an unbiased source.” If someone knew Islam was a fact do you think they would remain atheist, chrisitian, jew, buddhist, etc. If they knew the Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him’s claim was true and the Holy Qur’an’s claim was true they would remain nonmuslim?

Here’s methodology. The Claims made in the Holy Qur’an must be examined from different disciplines. For instance the Holy Qur’an makes claims in of previously corrupted scripture (2:79). Biblical scholarship has demonstrated this to be true within the last 125 years. Here’s another claim: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFe8vQZtbbE about Pharaoh Ramses 2nd body.

Here i’ll even ask you go to nonmuslim sites examine there scholarship about the issue. Critically examine what they say. Look at there biases as well. like answering-islam.org. What how they debate on youtube. Critically observe.

This reality consists of opposites just like there is truth there is also falsehood. Just like there is good there is also evil.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

you really don’t understand do you? you are arguing that a belief system is definitely right. because other human beings, with the same types of desires/fears/motivations say it is so. none of that proves anything, i can show you very intelligent Christians who can show their religion in a way that makes it seem 100% true, same with Hinduism, and everything else with a large belief system. It doesn’t change anything, as far as I’m concerned, we are all Humans, and God understands all of our beliefs. The specifics are not really the point, life is about Love and the pursuit of happiness. How you go about it, matters not. And you will not persuade me, with your religion, otherwise.

  • AddingVelocityDontTellMe

I’ll give you evidence look critically at them and cross reference the information from different disciplines (such as oceanography, egyptology, bibilcal scholarship, etc). 10 evidences 9 from the Holy Qur’an and 1 from Sahih Hadith. Holy Qur’anic Miracles: 1. Oral preservation 2. Pharoah ramses 2nd body 3. Embryology (and look up galen so you can know the difference) 4. Corruption in the Bible 5. Fingerprint miracle 6. Mountain Peg miracle 7. Barrier between two bodies of water miracle 8. Gospel of Thomas infancy miracle 9. Prophecy of the Roman and Persian War Sahih Hadith Miracle Hadith of Gabriel Minor Prophecy toward day of judgement occuring right now in Dubai and other gulf/non gulf arab countries. These are OBJECTIVE evidences that any individual regardless of testing will come to the same results. These are signs presented 1400 years ago mind you that.

    *slams face into keyboard*

  • AddingVelocityDontTellMe

You speak broad generalizations but your speech is devoid of any weight. And just like christians you(NBK) made a creative theology “as far as I’m concerned, we are all Humans, and God understands all of our beliefs. The specifics are not really the point, life is about Love and the pursuit of happiness”

The Holy Qur’an provides different claim then you about the Purpose of the Human Being. So how do we know your claim is truthful and not the Holy Qur’an? provide objetive evidence.

And I want you to bring a christian for me to have a discussion with. not about sharing what we believe. No NO NO i mean about pursuing the absolute truth.

How can chrisitans claim there religion is true when there own foundational text is Contains forgeries and they don’t have even the original documents to know the authentic sayins of Jesus Peace Be Upon Him. Even they are unsure of how canonical and noncanonical gospels should be included or excluded. Do you even know what the Bible is?

  • AddingVelocityDontTellMe

Humiliate me all you want. But you need to address my points.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

no, i don’t. and i’m not humiliating you. You are blatantly ignoring what i’m saying, or you are very very bad at reading. i literally felt like slamming my face into the keyboard. it was as honest as a response as i could muster without insulting you.
