Kevin Durant Downplays Jealousy Comments from LeBron James

In all likelihood, LeBron James was kidding when he told the media that he sometimes gets jealous when he looks at Kevin Durant’s statline. KD correctly accused the press of making a bigger deal out of the comments than they warranted. Per the Oklahoman:

“How can I not see it? It’s been on CNN. It’s been on ABC, FOX Sports. Man, it’s been everywhere. Ya’ll blowing that out of proportion, man. I mean, I’m pretty sure, matter of fact, I’m 100 percent sure LeBron can do whatever he wants.”

“I get jealous sometimes when I look over at KD and he’s like 16-for-32 (from the field) and then 14-for-34. …Man,” James was quoted as saying. There are games when I have it going, and then at the end of the game, I’m like, damn, I shot just 12-for-16? Why don’t I get up at least six or seven more? I definitely notice it.”

James is averaging a career-low 16.2 shot attempts but shooting a career-high 58.7 percent from the field. He’s purposely dedicated himself to being a more efficient scorer over the past two seasons, and he still sacrifices shot attempts to orchestrate the Heat offense and get teammates involved.

“There’s probably a handful of times I shot 30 times,” Durant said. “I’m sure he’s shot more 30-shot games than I have over his career. But I guess the guy is just trying to challenge himself. I don’t know. But you guys are blowing that up for no reason.”

shout out to SLAM for not sugarcoating this for page views,

“KD correctly accused the press of making a bigger deal out of the comments than they warranted”

Lebron was simply giving props to KD in a joking kinda way…I doubt the reigning MVP and two time champion is actually jealous of anybody else’s success…

lol @ KD saying the media is blowing it out of proportion, while proceeding to continue blowing it out of proportion

Today is the day. Jan 17th. Had it on my schedule. Harrison Barnes. took a quick glance at the stats….
You were correct. Harrison Barnes is averaging 5 more minutes per game this year than last year, even with Igoudala on the squad. However, Andre missed a ton of games with the hamstring injury, and I’m guessing Barnes started those games (i have no league pass)….He has more games started than games he has come off the bench….this skews the data……Not to mention, his regular season stats from last year vs. Playoff stats are night and day. So who knows….

cant come to a conclusion Harrison Barnes ..may have to wait until the reg season is over….

he’s at 25mpg in games he hasn’t started. So his minutes are right where they were last season. So, with looking at the situation i predicted, i am wrong so far.

  • LP @ThisisEther

Yes, I saw that, but if you were betting money, you would be collecting money. Because he is averaging more minutes(with an asterisk)…. U would win on a technicality

He’s right though. Lebron can take as many shots as he wanted to.

lol, i don’t accept that type of victory. if i’m wrong in the context that i spoke, then i’ll take the loss.

Lebron caps himself because he cares about his efficiency/all around game stats. Regardless, being 3rd leading scorer while barely breaking the top 20 on FGA is ridiculously impressive.

This is a stupid comment from LeBron. First off if anybody is jealous it would be KD, LeBron has championships and multiple MVPs. LeBron is a pass first player, a big time play maker and not a cold blooded scorer like KD. If LeBron tries to alter his game to somebody else’st, he will fail!!!!!
