Sacramento Kings forward Rudy Gay appears to have avoided serious injury after leaving Wednesday night’s contest against the Houston Rockets early in the first quarter. Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Gay has a strained Achilles and will be re-evaluated in 3-5 days. The Kings lost both Gay and center DeMarcus Cousins to injuries in the 119-98 loss. The status of Cousins isn’t known yet.
An MRI reveals a sprain for Rudy Gay, league source tells Yahoo. He’ll be in a walking boot for 3-to-5 days, then re-evaluated.

With Rudy Gay, it should’ve read, “strain,’ not “sprain.”
