Knicks To Buy Out Metta World Peace, Beno Udrih

The Knicks are working on buyouts of Metta World Peace and Beno Udrih, according to several reports. New York will have two open roster spots with 27 games left. From ESPNNewYork:

League sources confirmed to ESPN New York that the team is in discussions with World Peace’s representatives to work on a buyout or outright release.

The Knicks, league sources said, are also in talks with Beno Udrih’s representatives to work on a release or buyout for the veteran point guard.

Udrih, 31, requested a trade from the Knicks in late January, sources said.

The Knicks attempted to trade Udrih before Thursday’s deadline but were unsuccessful.

Neither of these guys are too useless. Udrih is still reasonably solid, things just turned sour pretty quickly in New York. At this point, I don’t know if Metta is much more than a specialist defender/enforcer off the bench.

Suitors won’t be falling over themselves to pick them up but, they won’t go unwanted.

At this stage what can you really achieve with world? Will anyone want world peace?….. how much will world peace cost?…. so many questions.

That front office needs to be overhauled. RIght now, they should focus on getting rid of JR Smith, Amare, and anyone else who’s gotten used to New Yorks’s sit on the perimeter offense.

Mid-season notes (read em and weep)
    1) Phoenix are the new Portland. Portland the new Golden State, and Houston the new… D’antoniesque fling with success.
    2) Clippers need a backup big and/or a wing who can do and/or defence/offense.
    3) Heat are unmotivated but that takes nada away from their chances of repeating… as does Bynum to Indy’s of trying.
    4) Pop is the best coach in the L, followed closely by Brooks/Carlisle. Doc Rivers has ways to go to make his team anywhere near what he had in Boston (at every level), therefor dropping a place.
    5) Overall, the NBA all-Star w/end was a massive success.
Curry clanged (as predicted – best shooter ever eh? meh) (3pt contest)
    Skills – Lillard was okay,
    PGeorge was overlooked, (dunk)
Wall got some love (for once)
BGriff played his ass off. (allstar game)
What next? no trades (of consequence)… what’s brewing NY?

They should give JR a gat, an 8ball and 100 mill & let his click run the NY Knicks… they couldn’t do any worse or be more embarrassing… AND damn i’m telling you that boy could make some headline up in here…
