Lance Stephenson ‘Mad’ At All-Star Snub

Lance Stephenson is not happy that his breakout season will be without an All-Star designation. Born Ready told media on Friday that that he’s “mad” at being snubbed, but added, “I’m just going to keep working hard and prove everyone wrong.” Let’s go Lance! From the Indy Star:

“I’m mad,” Stephenson said. “I feel like I had my breakout year last year. I showed I can play with anyone on the floor and I felt like this year, I brought a little bit more to my game.

“But other people saw it differently. I’m just going to keep working hard and prove everyone wrong.”

Stephenson not being included among the All-Star reserves was the talk of the league when they were announced on Thursday night. Hall of Famer and TNT analyst Charles Barkley chimed in with: “That’s a joke. I see why they’ve got so many crappy teams in the East because the coaches don’t know what they’re doing.”

Replace Kyrie Irving (yes I know he was a fan vote) and Joe Johnson with Stephenson and Lowry.

  • D

Switch Joe Johnson for Lance Stephenson fo sho , but Lowry has only been playing all-star ball since shipping out Gay , I think he still needs to prove he can play this way every night

The biggest snub IMO was Cousins

lowry is more deserving than derozan. lowry is second amongst east guards in PER to wade, who has missed a gang of games

  • ATL dynamite

    Anthony Davis??

  • Caboose

Take your pick, both were incredible snubs. DIRK was the problem there.

  • spit hot fiyah

agreed, it is hard to argue against dirk though. i think davis will get kobe’s spot (and should), specially with the game in NO

I totally agree AD deserves some love there, but The Starters made a point about him not being picked… Coaches will assume that a young, talented player like AD will make the next 10 ASG so they put in a guy like Dirk (who I can’t argue with) instead. And Lowry and Stevenson for that matter have better numbers across the board that Joe Johnson, but then there are people who say “Oh but you have to reward winning, it’s not about the numbers.” Both Toronto and Indiana have better records than Brooklyn…

I heard triple-doubles are the best kind of therapy.

Lance is just mad that he pushed it himself claiming it. I still don’t feel he is at all-star level. He’s had a handful of pretty good games. A lot of 10 point or less games and is benefiting off of his team. I don’t think counting the triple double as a stat should give him that much credit.

Goran Dragic might be the biggest snub that no one’s discussing. He’s basically led what people were assuming to be the worst team in the league this year to a 29-18 record, while averaging 20/6, and shooting about 50%/40%. He’s doing this with Miles Plumlee as his center, PJ Tucker is his 3 man, their #1 draft pick playing Bennett minutes…and with Bledsoe going down, they’ll still managed an 11-7 record, with almost all those losses coming by 5 points or less. That’s nuts. Dragic need love.

Totally cosign! I hope he get’s picked to replace Kobe.

On paper the Kings and Pelicans were supposed to be waaay better than the Suns. People were thinking that the Suns might not even win 15 games. Tanking, what’s that?

Doesnt matter Lance, a ring will look good on you and next year when you are champ youll go to the all star weekend. Just keep it up

  • playa

    Umm

  • JT

    Lowry**

  • Shooting Guard

chill lance it’s just an overhyped game with no defense

  • Jerry Doughty

obviously, you don’t watch the games, easily a better defender than any one that beat him on the all star team.

  • Jerry Doughty

He has played well all season, and has scored over 10 all but 4 games, clearly playing better than joe johnson

His triple doubles are not equal to a LBJ or KD one.
I agree Lance is having the more impressive year but there are factors.
People game plan for Joe and he’s the main reason for the Nets playoff contention at this very point, Pacers already have 2 other all-stars, Lance will earn it eventually (Same as the Dirk over Davis argument.)

  • Shooting Guard

Chill it was joke. I watch the games way more than you by the way
