Pau Gasol Out With Groin Injury Until All-Star Break

The Los Angeles Lakers announced Tuesday that big man Pau Gasol will be out until at least the NBA All-Star break with a nagging groin injury. From the press release:

Pau Gasol, who was diagnosed with a strained right groin after undergoing an MRI on Saturday, is expected to be out until the All-Star Break.

He was to be out a minimum of one week, but coach Mike D’Antoni acknowledged prior to the Lakers-Wolves game that the 7-foot Spaniard would be sidelined longer.

Gasol will miss the entire three-game road trip, along with home games vs. Chicago (Sunday, Feb. 9), Utah (Tuesday, Feb. 11) and Oklahoma City (Thursday, Feb. 13), before being re-examined.
