Oklahoma City Thunder Logo Leak

The rumors are all true. This photo was allegedly taken by some staff member unloading team gear. Most likely taken with with a camera phone, this link features a photo of the new Oklahoma City NBA franchise logo on a team mini-ball.

    Ew gross! First!

  • BETCATS Posted: Aug.30 at 2:45 pm
v@gina!!! No, seriously they look like the Detriot WNBA teams logo. With the T-Woves getting Mike Miller and changeing their unis and now the OKC copying some WNBA stuff, it seems the NBA is trying to go from thug league to women’s league

  • BETCATS Posted: Aug.30 at 2:48 pm
but of course Stern is ok with that because to him its business not Basketball. P.S.- Unk Pants!

  • Kayfah Posted: Aug.30 at 2:50 pm
UGH! thats wack, plzzz let this be a bad joke :(

  • riggs Posted: Aug.30 at 3:00 pm
lol @ it being impossible to photoshop through plastic, being a graphics designer….no its not.

  • Matt Caputo Posted: Aug.30 at 3:03 pm
The moment I saw it – I posted it. I’m on vacation too!!

  • BETCATS Posted: Aug.30 at 3:05 pm
Caputo is on notice for working while vacationing

  • RV Posted: Aug.30 at 3:20 pm
of course its generic, how the hell do you draw thunder? I believe Stern wants all the teams to eventually have similar unis and logos to match the WNBA. Easy to standardize the whole league and saves them money.

  • the baconator Posted: Aug.30 at 3:31 pm
What’s even funnier BETCATS is Caputo’s boss thinks he’s sick! Seriously though, that’s a really crappy logo, for an even crappier team. I think they should be forced to play in the WNBA just for sucking this bad.

  • vegas Posted: Aug.30 at 3:32 pm
ITS HORRIBLE. IM OK WITH THUNDER BUT THAT LOGO IS JUST TOO MUCH.

  • RV Posted: Aug.30 at 3:42 pm
Of course the Hornets’ new unis look nothing like the WNBA unis, so there goes by theory..

  • dave42 Posted: Aug.30 at 3:50 pm
man so where those sick Barons jerseys fake then? they are so stupid the Barons jerseys looked 50x better than any of this garbage. they are so dumb if this is real…

  • niQ Posted: Aug.30 at 6:18 pm

  • P-MAC Posted: Aug.30 at 7:09 pm
the colors are coo but he logo is too simple.. they need to be more creative, cba, wnba or more like AAU is what it looks like lol

  • alapatrick Posted: Aug.30 at 7:19 pm
    waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack

  • Double R Posted: Aug.30 at 7:20 pm
@Mat Smith, the concept design for the jerseys don’t look that bad.

  • Hook Posted: Aug.30 at 7:28 pm
    The logo is poor

  • James the balla Posted: Aug.30 at 7:47 pm
    Why is it so gay?

  • Hursty Posted: Aug.30 at 8:08 pm
Yeh Im not liking this at all. Im gonna laugh if no-one goes to the games now and they have to relocate back to Seattle. But the jersey designs look pretty nice, too close to the Hawks/2006 USA design but pretty nice.

  • jn321 Posted: Aug.30 at 8:09 pm
im not that big of fan of this logo I COULD DO SOMETHING BETTER on the computer any day it is yo plain- they need something more original like phx or the raps or boston or the hornets

  • The Answer Posted: Aug.30 at 9:51 pm
wow how creative. “THUNDER” in plain letters. nice.

  • mitch Posted: Aug.30 at 10:57 pm
how are you sposed to make a logo for thunder

  • andrew Posted: Aug.31 at 5:22 am
Can’t bennett afford a decent desinger? Did they hols a competition for primary school kids to come up with this? What trash.

  • greg Posted: Aug.31 at 11:12 am
that logo is wack squared man – oklahoma city sonics sounds fine, kits were fine in seattle, why change it? then again the owner of OKC is jewish (owner of starbucks, probably wanted to save money lol

  • Ben Posted: Aug.31 at 12:23 pm
it looks like a WNBA logo

  • Diogo Posted: Aug.31 at 2:28 pm
    damn, they suck.

  • vmcb Posted: Aug.31 at 6:09 pm
    grosssssssssssssss

  • rav Posted: Aug.31 at 8:16 pm
slightly off-topic here, but if gustav has an affect as big as katrina wouldn’t it make sense for the hornets to play in seattle?

  • RedRum Posted: Sep.1 at 12:18 am
Does anyone else believe that this team will be jinxed forever?

  • jub_al Posted: Sep.1 at 2:00 am
does anybody else think that these team colours are identical to th bobcats’? either way, i’ve seen better logos in the ‘customize your team’ section of NBA Live on Xbox…

  • Hursty Posted: Sep.1 at 2:53 am
Hey RAV- thats not a bad idea….

  • Gerard Himself Posted: Sep.1 at 8:10 am
RedRum: yes. But forever won’t be that long. They won’t last in OKC for 5 years.

  • BETCATS Posted: Sep.1 at 9:12 am

  • rapsfan43 Posted: Sep.1 at 11:28 am

  • dc... Posted: Sep.1 at 8:31 pm
wow i doubt they bet they spent 5 minutes on that logo and name. its the worst logo in the nba. its a wnba name. ucant have a singular name in the nba

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Sep.2 at 1:07 am
The Magic and the Heat would beg to differ.

  • rikson Posted: Sep.2 at 6:09 am
I dont like the logo either – but cmon its a logo! You tellin me its like WNBA-logo, vagina or gay – to me some guys discussing about the style of a logo is GAY! For Stern its business, for you … its STYLE. But dont forget its bout basketball after all…

  • jub_al Posted: Sep.2 at 7:22 am
it must be proven somewhere that ugly jerseys affect the overall performance of athletes…

  • Gerard Himself Posted: Sep.2 at 7:58 am
I don’t dislike the “Thunder” name. But the logo isn’t doing much for me. The “away” jersey is OK(C) though.

  • moneygrip4 Posted: Sep.2 at 4:32 pm
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=lukas/080731&campaign=rsssrch&source=paul_lukas I thought these unis were so official for the OKC squad!

  • Dacre Posted: Sep.2 at 11:34 pm
how do you draw thunder then…?

  • K-Dawgg Posted: Sep.3 at 2:56 pm
I don’t think those are real. Those are just way too crappy. This whole thing is just dumb though. It seems like these days teams don’t take the time to choose logos and names. Thunder sounds like a D-Leage name, probably took 5 minutes to think of, and anyway thunder is just the sound that lightning makes so how are you going to draw up a logo for something that isn’t even visual? I swear they have some of the dumbest people comming up with this stuff.

  • Raider Nation Posted: Sep.3 at 6:17 pm
good luck trying to sell team gear with that ugly ass logo on it..

  • Raider Nation Posted: Sep.3 at 6:18 pm
its almost as bad as Kevin Durant’s D

  • Csquared Posted: Sep.3 at 6:19 pm
What do you mean you cant have a singular name in the NBA dc… Orlando MAGIC, Miami HEAT do your research first buddy!

  • wuzguest Posted: Sep.3 at 7:10 pm
All you whiny little seattlites go cry in your latte. Pooooor you I hear violins playing sad music in the background. you had your chance you blew it. Now blow it out your old wazooo!

  • hahaha Posted: Sep.3 at 8:43 pm
    booooooo !!!!!!!

  • reality check Posted: Sep.3 at 8:47 pm
If I were one of the Seattle Sonics, I would NOT be proud to be playing for okieville, especially having to wear jerseys with an UGLY logo that a kindergarten probably came up with. I bet the rest of the NBA franchise and players are laughing their as—– off and feeling sorry for the Seattle Sonics at the same time. What’s with the “sunset”? Okieville…this is the NBA, NOT the WNBA! I feel so SORRY for the Seattle Sonics. First of all, they’re now stuck in Okieville (one of the top fattest, most obese states) where it’s dead on the weekends and feels and looks like a ghost town after 6PM. There are no places worth spending time and money at, unless you drive about two hours away or so to Dallas, or just have to fly to a real big city, like New York, L.A., Chicago, Paris, etc. Tulsa does not count, it’s a big yawn as well. There are never stories worth mentioning in the media. Any media stories worth viewing or listening to are news from out of state cities. Any okie “celebrity” news or any mention of oklahoma city in nationwide news are over hyped and over played by the media. I feel so SORRY for the Seattle Sonics for being bought out from the beautiful Emerald city by okies in a city that smells like sewer. Yes! Anywhere you go in the state of oklahoma, it smells like SEWER! Other than being booooooooring, it’s only a great place to live in if you like living a very, very, very monotonous life. Okieville and it’s surrounding cities such as Edmond, are one of those places that like to “keep up with the Joneses”. I mean, they have the money (probably okies’ tax money) to purchase a NBA team just so they can label their city “big city”, but they do NOT have the money to clean up all kinds of trash that make the whole city and it’s surrounding city look so ghetto, repair horrible roads full of holes, go business to business making hundreds of thousands to millions by employing illegals so they can be deported, sidewalks and bike trails in every neighborhood so people will exercise and not be grossly obessed, and the list goes on. I guess that shows you what their priorities are.

  • Chitown Posted: Sep.4 at 2:36 pm
wow. Having grown up in Chicago and now living in OKC I can tell you, ^reality check^ you are clueless. You have no idea what life is like here. Do everyone a favor and shut the hell up unless you know what you’re talking about. As for the logo. It sucks. It’s by far the worst logo in all of professional sports. I live in the city, am excited about the team, but I will never buy a piece of merch with that logo on it.

  • reality check Posted: Sep.4 at 8:44 pm
chitown…I was born and raised in Chicago (Gold Coast, Streeterville, and downtown). Unfortunately, I now live in Edmond, the “beverly hills” of OK (what a JOKE!) for four years on a contract project helping businesses be up to date in today’s technology as the majority of them are 20 years behind. So far, from personal experience – not hearsay, every town/city I have been in this state – many people are obese, rude, uneducated, boring, alcoholics, meth addicts, animal murderers, & so on; and yes, it “smells like sewer” everywhere, just as all my professional NFL, NBA, and fortune 500 clients mention when they come visit OKC. I only stated the FACTS! A conference of various government associations that is normally held in Washington every year was held here in OK last year because OK “begged” the conference coordinator to bring it here to attract more future conferences. Most, if not all, of the conference attendees had NOTHING positive to say about OKC. Trust me, I’m NOT the only one who is NOT impressed by this state, even if everyone who knows me started calling me an “okie”.

  • 2 Da Point Posted: Sep.9 at 4:02 pm
This logo was not thought out long enough. Looks like there was a design meeting that was held and only one out of a dozen people had an idea for the logo and that individual was artistcally RETARDED! I would’nt claim the credit for this one, color is wrong, logo is wrong, the whole thing is wrong. Reminds me of KFC not OKC. This is gonna crash and burn, mark my words!!! Sorry you’re stuck with this mess Kevin Durant, might affect your game psychologically.

  • daprodigy13 Posted: Sep.16 at 3:03 pm
damn the name the okc thunder name doesn’t fly @ all!! why that name? of all other great names they had too choose that! damn!!

  • Kevin Posted: Oct.3 at 4:35 pm
so at first i was excited to have an NBA Team in oklahoma. but wow how can an owner F- Up a great opportunity for a team. that is the Most retarded name, logo, and team colors and uniforms anyone can think of. how do you manage to pull that off? i live in oklahoma and im ashamed to see this. its pathetic. i pray that this doesnt last. really. i dont think i will be able to get over this untill i can see clay bennet face to face and tell him how retarded he is.
