Should Carmelo Be More Aggressive at Crunch Time?

His teammates are certainly hoping to see him get the ball more when things tighten up: “I wish we could rewind the game a little bit and at the end I wish he could have gotten his hands on a few more balls on the last few possessions because he was going so good,’ Nuggets guard Chauncey Billups said. Added guard J.R. Smith: ‘I think we got to do a better job as a team of getting him the ball at the end of the game. I think that should be more of an emphasis. We just got to learn from our experiences.’ But Anthony didn’t see it that way. He scored nine points in the fourth quarter.’I could have been a little bit more selfish,’ Anthony said, “but I don’t think it came down to that.’”

Yeah probably, this wasn’t Melo’s fault at all though. He played great, shot when he had the ball and was being guarded 1 on 1, making nice passes and quick decisions when LA doubled. I think Chauncey and JR could’ve been more aware of riding his hot hand though.
I’m looking for a big Nuggets win tonight!

if it comes down to just melo and kobe liek in game one ..for one he cant shoot an airball then get a charge again..melo would have to make smarter decisions but its everybody else in my opinion….thats need to show in the l;ast minute of the game because honestly they all play good…

Just go to the rim no matter what and close it out with FT’s. How Kobe padded his stats and slowed the pace down for them to pull it out. But is Melo going to get those “superstar calls” too? He should.

He should, but he won’t. ‘Melo’s not as big a (marketing) tool as Kobe is. Anyway, as long as someone (anyone) else steps-up, the Nugs will be fine.

That is correct. Stern never tells the NBA brass/owners/investor groups to stop snitchin to him that Melo is too real for their league(image). Irony, yes. Melo just needs to play hard, defend his butt off despite his previous years as a no show on D, and outwork em. He had help last night and outplayed Kobe. Kobe just got frustrated nonstop after plays that didn’t go the Lakers way, now who’s the mature face of the league here? (Nuggets learned to stop trying to vouch for calls later into the game and just play through it) Also they made their FT’s, even if a streak was broken with a scare by Chauncey, Defense closed out the game.

Melo and Kobe playing well. Billups, what a record 7 straight conference finals, he has helped Denver improve, shame about Iverson season though. I hope Iverson luck changes soon.
