Kareem on Dwight’s ‘Predictable’ Game

No word, however, on his foul-prone protégé: “He’s still offensively kind of raw,’ Abdul-Jabbar said Wednesday. ‘He doesn’t have a go-to move yet. Right now, he’s kind of predictable. Dwight is kind of limited offensively. He does great right under the basket, (but) you force him to do other things, he doesn’t have an answer for it yet. But I think that’s his challenge.’”

Ha this isnt new at all as soon as Dwight can figure out how not to suck 10 ft away from the basket then I’ll take him seriously until then i dont give a sh*t

End, how is Lew’s boy doing? Bynum #’s?

I’ve said this many times before. Dwight would’ve benefited from a year or two of college. He has very poor post moves, and bad footwork. Kareem is the all time scoring leader in the NBA, so he knows a thing or two about offense. BTW, Bynum has never recovered from his knee surgery, and he looks like he’s regressed. He doesn’t have the explosion like he used to.

    Cap’ Obvious?

Doesn’t matter if it’s predictable. It just has to be effective.

Hakeem would’ve school Dwight much like he did Shaq, and Shaq was bigger and better than Dwight.

    @jackie moon
That’s exactly right. I mean, Kareem’s game was pretty predictable: catch, dribble once, skyhook, but it was effective. Think he’s a little upset that Ewing’s protege is doing better than his?

What’s Ewing been doing this whole time, trying to teach Dwight a face-up jump shooting game? Dwight just needs to start hanging out with Al Jefferson over the summers.

College wouldn’t have done ish to his game. What dunking over 6’8 centers for a year or two would have done to his development. Stop playing yourself. It’s not like he would have needed any move in the ACC. Grab the lob, dunk, repeat.

Way to point out the obvious Kareem, cause no one else knew this AT ALL.Good job.

  • Teddy-the-Bear

    Right on, Kareem!
@ Chen: Uhh, dude, if there’s one assistant coach right now that can teach REAL big-man skill, its Patrick Ewing. Also, how in the world can you say Al Jefferson is better than Ewing, if that’s what you were implying?

@ Chendaddy, that’s probably all Ewing CAN teach him.

oh my Lanta…predictable? Coming from the mouth of the most predictable guy in sports! Kareem would just hook the ball every time he shot…just because someone is predictable does not mean you can stop it. Howard, IMO, will not be close to comparison as Kareem, but saying he is predictable is kinda ironic.

Obviously Kareem has been reading my blog because I just covered this subject. What a biter!

  • Kadavour

Andrew Bynum’s post game is far more polished than Shaq-lite’s. Hakeem would school ANY big man of ANY era PERIOD. Ewing had post moves? Really??
