enigmatic: mos def is most definitely someone you want to see live, the guy is positively electrifying in person. also as cool as you could ever want a celebrity to be, really down to earth, i’ve met him a couple times and even though im sure it was nothing to him, he really made my day.

@Enigmatic: I saw him in Boston with Talib Kweli..dude puts on a good show if you like the music. The venue (HOB) didn’t have great sound, but he was really into it and could barely get off the stage. Worth it.

mos and talib were the first musicians i ever really listened to, they made me into a hip hop lover, and by virtue of mos’ appreciation for the music that preceded him, i was exposed to some of the all time greats. Mos def is one of the illest that you’ll ever know.

That whole Black on Both Sides album is a classic to me. Backpack, conscious, commercial, Mos really mixed it up well on that album. Not a bad actor either.
THE IRON LUNG
a*s so fat that you can see it from the front….

@z and Moose – thanks, y’all. I’ll probably go check him out.
I haven’t really kept up with his career much since Blackstar and Black on Both Sides except for a few songs here and there and when he guests on others’ albums.
I think he’s one of the most talented rappers alive but his albums, in my opinion, always left something to be desired on the production tip. Beats could’ve been way better.

@Enigmatic: I was kind of disappointed with his set, actually. I love BoBS as well, and he performed almost exclusively from The Ecstatic, which is still a good album, but that said, I would’ve preferred BoBS. And this concert was this past fall.
