    So have we moved on to R&B now? We still got a lot of 90’s rap to go through… still waiting on OC, for one.
    Hammer – I feel you on Lauryn Hill. I think it might be a toss-up between her and Jean Grae for best female MC, in my opinion.
    And her “Killing Me Softly” cover is one of the greatest covers ever in any genre, but that wouldn’t be a good song to showcase her rhyming skills on!

    I hear ya Enigmatic. Her rapping skill r better displayed on “Final hour” and “Lost ones”. And then there is “Zealots”, Ready or Not” and “Fugee-La”, altho those 3 r on ” “The Score” album. But still, she was a killer. Man she is missed! Nikki Minaj who? Lady of Rage should be mentioned as well.

    R&B used to be the shiiiiiiiit to me. Loved it when it was Mary J, Monica, Keith, Soul 4 Real, Alliyah, etc. But it’s no longer rhythm OR blues. It’s become pop. The last REAL R&B singer to come out was Alicia Keys. Bruno Mars gets props for his talent, but I still say his sound is more pop oriented. L-Boogie is arguably the greatest female MC ever, but she’s beyond that. She’s an artist. She can rap AND sing her ass off. Only other person capable of that is Andre 3000 (sorry Drake. You can kinda sing, but your rhymes are as simplistic as anything Shaq ever wrote. You just spit it out better).
