As a Hawk fan i’m just happy to see Joe Johnson, and Al for that matter, participating in any kind of event, he really doesn’t get on the map enough.

Common guys!! Hawaii? are u serious? why won’t you hook up with USO “Until Everyone “Never” Comes Home” and come to see us here in Afghanistan!!! man, this is dissapointing, unless u serve in hawaii. Geez…i wanna meet and greet players i love watching…here is a story, Karl Malone was supposed to come to Camp Phoenix, Afghanistan like 3 months ago…so, i am standing in line with 2 nice 1990′s upper deck cards, anxious for him to show up, then we get word, that at the LAST MINUTE, instead of him coming to Camp Phoenix, dude went to Camp Eggers!!! “mind this, camp eggers is where all the big shots, generals, coronels and everyone that make thousands are stationed! so, it was a foul play…leaving thousands of soldiers and civilian workers waiting for nothing! it was VERY dissapointed…GGGRRRR

At least…they are doing some type of USO for some other troops that ain’t deployed. it’s all good i guess..

@Neitel – it sucks but I’m sure the USO itself is to blame and not the players.
    BTW, it’s Colonel, not “coronels”….

I am one of the Soldiers that participated in the USO Hoops for Troops. The players were all around great guys. They were polite friendly and appreciative of our service to our nation. We were afforded the opportunity to meet and greet the players, they were humble and real. Each player signed autographs and chatted with Soldiers and their families. As a man, Soldier, and leader of America’s sons and daughters I received the greatest compliment, “you are the true heroes and we appreciate your service to our country.” Being acknowledged and appreciated inspires us to do and be more on and off duty.. I would like to say thank you to all athletes and their staff for all of their generosity and participation.
