JR Smith Injures Knee in China

Nuggets ownership and fans, your nightmares may have become reality. JR Smith reportedly suffered a serious knee injury playing for his Chinese team, Zhejiang. Per Jon Pastuszek’s Twitter account: “J.R. Smith leaves CBA regular season opener in 4th quarter with knee injury, looks serious…J.R. Smith unable walk on his own, carried to hospital-bound ambulance by teammates.” And Justin Phan of Yahoo! has photos of Smith on the bench post-injury via his Twitter account.

cosign Jer Boi…im sick and tired of people actually believing the myth that a “no out” clause in China means shi*. Dude can leave whenever he wants.

This is exactly what i was talking about, so does that void his nba contract?

  • Joey E. Posted: Nov.20 at 4:25 pm
^he would be a free agent so he’s not under contract

  • EtheKnickFan Posted: Nov.20 at 6:36 pm
See what too much MSG do to a brother?

  • shutupallenp Posted: Nov.20 at 8:29 pm
so then it just severely affects his contract worth now?

  • omphalos Posted: Nov.20 at 9:23 pm
^yes. This sucks for JR. Was really hoping he’d dominate over there.

  • omphalos Posted: Nov.20 at 9:24 pm
Maybe we should blame the Chinese league for breaking JR the way they blamed the NBA for Yao Ming’s injuries.

This should be a warning to all!!!!

  • BBaller Posted: Nov.21 at 1:43 am
He has injured himself while only making a fraction of what he could of made in the nba.Players beware.

THE CHINESE SEASON ENDS IN FEBRUARY RIGHT? HE CAN JUST SIGN WITH ANY NBA TEAM HE’D LIKE,

  • Ryan Posted: Nov.21 at 8:45 am
Well, its safe to say that we will never see him again.

Hate to see a player of this calibre go down like this, especially being that he wasn’t one of the influential players adamantly opposing the lockout.
