New York Historical Society Launches Sports Database

The New York Historical Society recently launched the Bill Shannon Biographical Dictionary, and for hoop heads, this is the site to check for all NY basketball history. With thorough and informative biographies of players and teams, the site is a must for all those interested in the history of the game. For all those looking to contribute, the database is open to suggestions and scholarly writings.

Looks very thorough. It would be cool if they included playground legends like Earl Manigault. Also, they don’t seem to have any mention of Kareem? I checked for Lew Alcindor also.

@arthur I believe they are still building, and if not throw a suggestion or writing their way, I’m sure they would look into it.
