Anthony Davis showed once again why he is the consensus No. 1 pick in next year’s draft as both his offense and defense led No. 1 Kentucky to an easy 69-44 victory over Tennessee.
The sophomore forward tallied 18 points, 8 rebounds and 7 blocks in 30 minutes on Tuesday. The 6-10 Chicago native was one of the reasons why Tennessee shot an abysmal 28.1 percent from the field. The 44 points were the least the Volunteers had scored in a game since Nov. 22, 2006, against Butler.
Afterwards, Tennessee’s head coach said a player like Davis doesn’t come along often.
From The Courier-Journal:
“He’s a difference, and probably one of the best, if not the best, in the country at changing the game with his presence on the defensive side of the ball,” UT coach Cuonzo Martin said. “When you have a guy like that – they come along once in a lifetime – he just changes the game.”
The Wildcats have now won their last two games by a combined 49 points. With the SEC’s worst team, South Carolina, next on the schedule, things could get even uglier.

Anyways, I know a lot of people would still take Andre Drummond over David but I just don’t see it.
Davis should be the clear-cut choice for number 1 pick.
