I like the tape, I just wish Meek would do more introspective joints like Used to Be and The Ride. Those really show his growth as an artist, but you gotta do the other records to get spins so I can’t fault him.
logues
man this new era rap is awful

Cosign dfrance Use To Be was the realest track on the mixtape. Ready or Not was pretty sick other than that the tape was average.

^You’re stuck in the past bruh. Hip Hop doesnt have to be insanely lyrical and cryptic to be enjoyable. I listen to this pre-game to get me hype!
logues
^not saying it has to be. but its not original at all.. it all sounds the same now days.

OVERRATED just like everybody on MMG!!! meek mill is not that good…the only good song from this mixtape is “Ready or Not”.
fruizm
@R32….youre probably that type of person that only listens to the top mixtapes of the month on Datpiff.

Much love logues. Best mixtape of 2012, hmmmm, ActionBronson might say otherwise…
snasty10
mixtape wasnt that bad, wasnt a big meek fan before this but after a listen definitely looked up some of his other stuff. This is a little off topic but i feel everytime slam post new music by a more recent artist about 80% of the comments are mostly dissing the song or the artist, did you guys expect hip hop music now a days to be the same as it was in 1993?
fruizm
@snast10…No, but the problem here is that there is some really good hip hop out there but whoever is running Layup Lines obviously has no clue. Give me the job!

@Fruizm why wait for slam, we all read the comments. Highjack the thread and post what you’re listening to. lol
But to Piggyback off snasty, I think most people listen to new music, wanting it to give them the same feel that their favorite artist does. Its natural. But if you have a somewhat open mind you can learn to appreciate different things. Its all a matter of taste.
