With the Olympics on the horizon, Nike Inc. in correlation with USA Basketball will be hosting its World Basketball Festival 2012 in Washington D.C. this weekend. From Friday, July 13 to Monday, July 16, the 2012 Men’s and Women’s National Teams will highlight a four-day celebration of the performance and culture of the game. Nike Inc. elite brands, such as the Jordan Brand, Converse and Nike Basketball will all be hosting an array of events.  In addition, young elite players from Brazil, Canada, China, Lithuania, Puerto Rico and U.S. will partake in the Global Challenge, which features top U18/U19 talent. There will also be streetball teams representing Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. competing for bragging rights. As for the fans, they will have the opportunity to participate a variety of events, which include youth skills clinics, community events, and a “Block Party” hosted by Converse. Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Maya Moore, and April Holmes are among the stars scheduled to attend the events.
