Aquille Carr Transfers to Florida’s Arlington Country Day

We heard a few weeks back that Baltimore’s top-ranked point guard, Aquille Carr, was looking for a new school. But at the time it seemed like a decision had not been made as to where he’d be transferring to. Reports today confirm that the Seton Hall bound recruit will not be spending his senior season in Charm City, and will instead head to Jacksonville, FL and suit up for Arlington Country Day. From the Baltimore Sun: “Aquille Carr, The Baltimore Sun’s All-Metro Player of the Year in boys basketball the last two seasons, will not play in Baltimore as a senior.Carr’s tangled path through youth stardom will continue at Arlington Country Day School, a private basketball power in Jacksonville, Fla., said the school’s coach, Rex Morgan.Morgan said Carr enrolled at Arlington Country Day on Wednesday and would begin classes there Thursday morning. Asked if he was excited to work with the high-flying guard, Morgan, a former Boston Celtics player, said “Oh yeah.”Attempts to reach Carr through his family were unsuccessful. The seven months since Carr led Patterson High to a Maryland 4A state championship have been a whirlwind of school transfers and legal trouble. Only a few weeks after the state title game, Carr transferred to St. Patrick High in Elizabeth, N.J., to work on his academic transcript. He remained there for little more than a month, returning to Patterson in May. He played in few summer basketball showcases, instead opting for summer school. But in August, Carr was arrested and charged with assaulting Treshonda Williams, the 20-year-old mother of his infant daughter. In September, city prosecutors said they would put his case on an inactive docket and drop the charges if Carr completed a 22-week program at the House of Ruth.”
