Nike’s ‘Move For Good’ Program to Help Re-Build Sports Facilities Impacted by Hurricane Sandy

From our friends at Nike, who are continuing efforts around Hurrican Sandy relief by announcing the “Move For Good” program:

Last November, Nike donated close to $2 million in product and cash to support those affected by the devastating impact of Hurricane Sandy.

Today Nike remains committed to rebuilding sport facilities at several NY and NJ area schools impacted by the storm. We know that active kids do better – in school and in life.

Concluding NYC’s 12-week Summer of #MakeItCount activities, if the Nike+ Fuel community in NY & NJ collectively earns and syncs 20 million NikeFuel on September 8, Nike will donate an additional $1 million dollars to The Fund for Public Schools to help restore access to sport.

Consumers can pledge their movement through Nike+ Running and/or Nike+ FuelBand to make September 8 our most active day ever. Inspire and engage others to move for good through #MakeItCount.

Nike will partner with The Fund for Public Schools to help restore Beach Channel High School in NY, and Architecture For Humanity to renovate several NJ schools.
