Kevin Ware to Reportedly Suit Up for Louisville’s Opener

Kevin Ware’s remarkable path back to the court is almost finished.

We all know Ware’s story—after suffering a gruesome leg injury in Louisville’s Elite Eight matchup against Duke, he has slowly worked his was back to full health, and even dunked a few weeks ago.

Now, it looks like the rising junior from the Bronx will be in uniform and on the bench for the Cardinals’ season opener against the College of Charleston on November 9.

From ESPN:

“He’ll suit up for the first game,” (Louisville coach Rick) Pitino said. “Whether he gets in or not, we’ll see.”

Ware, who suffered an open fracture to his right leg during Louisville’s Elite Eight game against Duke in March, was cleared to play last week and is working toward getting into game shape. Pitino expects that to happen in the next two weeks and anticipates Ware joining the team for full practice Nov. 1.

Whether or not Ware is able to turn into an impact player for the Cardinals this season remains to be seen, but man, how can you not root for this guy?
