UCLA Transfer Wanaah Bail Granted Full Eligibility

Steve Alford received some good news yesterday, as his UCLA Bruins will receive the services of Texas Tech transfer Wanaah Bail for all of the 2013-14 season.

Bail was a three-star recruit and the 115th ranked player in the country by Rivals last year. He originally signed with the Red Raiders, but left Lubbock after summer classes. After sitting out all of last year, Bail enrolled at UCLA over the summer and appealed to the NCAA for a waiver that would let him play this season.

Despite coming into college in the class of 2012, Bail will be a freshman this year, joining fellow freshmen Zach LaVine, Noah Allen, and Bryce Alford. Unfortunately for UCLA fans, Bail may not be able to play right away.

From ESPNLA:

Bail is recovering from left knee surgery and hasn’t been cleared to return to practice. He had surgery to repair torn cartilage on June 28 and was originally projected to miss four months.

According to that timetable, Bail should be healthy in time for the Bruins’ season opener against Drexel on November 9.
