Aquille Carr Released by the Delaware 87ers

 

Aquille Carr’s tumultuous post-high school career has taken another detour. The Delaware 87ers, the D-League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, announced this afternoon that it was releasing the 5-6 Baltimore native. Here is the team’s short announcement:

The Delaware 87ers have released Aquille Carr.

Carr (5-6, 148) was selected by the Delaware 87ers with the ninth pick of the third round in the 2013 NBA Development League Draft.

Carr was one of three NBA Draft-eligible players playing this season in the NBA Development League and one of two players to play this season in the NBADL without having played in college. He appeared in 10 games with the 87ers and averaged 10.7 points, 1.9 assists, and 1.2 steals in 13.8 minutes.

The 87ers will play their next home game at the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark, DE tonight, Friday, January 3 at 7 p.m. against the Erie Bayhawks. Home and away games can be viewed via YouTube on the NBADL channel. All home games can be heard on 91.3 WVUD.
