All-Star ’10: First Balloting Returns
You gotta enjoy All-Star balloting. Three months before the game, we already know — with 90 percent accuracy — the starters in the NBA’s annual Popularity Show.
According to the first All-Star Balloting returns (see below), we’ll likely see these lineups (pending injury):
East: LeBron James, Kevin Garnett, Dwyane Wade, Vince Carter, Dwight Howard.
West: Carmelo Anthony, Dirk Nowitzki, Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Amar’e Stoudemire.
Bosh has an outside prayer of overcoming Garnett’s early lead. Nash and Paul should surpass the injured McGrady to vie for the final West guard starting spot. I give the nod to Nash because of his past ties with the Mavericks and their fans. Last season, you’ll recall, Nash failed to make the team, despite the game being in Phoenix.
Only the Lakers have a top 5 candidate in the forward, guard and center positions; although, it looks like Kobe will be the only starter.
Tim Duncan was an All-Star starter in every All-Star Game during the past decade, so maybe coming off the bench going into the 2010s isn’t such a bad thing.

‘all-starish’ year than Nash. Yep, no doubt about it. I didn’t think he was but I guess China knows more than I do.
East: LeDanceDanceRevolution, Sun Yue, KG, Jennings, Shaq-a-Claus
@the underrated one….:ni hao.wo shi xilaren. zheli de haizi changchang bu limao. qing yuanliang.
EAST: Rondo, Wade, Lebron, Bosh, Howard.
WEST: Nash, Kobe, Melo, Durant, Bynum .
OBSERVETIONS: Durant less popular than Pau?? Bargniani over Horford ????? Where is “Anna”?????????????????????????
Olympiakos completely destroyed Unkikaja Malaga and now leads the group(Josh had some nice moves and a follow dunk). I saw some highlights from Barcelona’s game today and (once again) Rubio has definitely some Pistol Pete in him….Yestrday Qyntel Woods led prokom to a surprise win over REAL mADRID. If Woods wasn’t a head case he would still be in olympiakos(we still love him, he is better player than Josh). Fotsis miraculus last second follow saved Panathinaikos at Russia….by the way: get ready to receive your VON WAFER back(THIS years Euroleague dissapointment). After he failed to average more than 5 minutes with Olympiakos, i expect him to be an NBA MVP canditate next year (in the steps of Brandon Jennings who was LAST years Euroleague disapointment).
East: DWade, Joe Johnson, J Smoove, LBJ, Dwight Really pisses me off that Amare is listed as a center. Will they ever fix the balloting? Should just vote for 5 players regardless of position. Where’s the Joe Johnson love?
Nash, Kobe, Dirk, Pau, Bynum
Seriously?
What is the, the f&$#ing nineteen forties?
Co-sign RV and Darksaber.
Darksaber: Spanny is a relatively intelligent fellow, which is why I’m always against having him banned (although I am guilty of breaking the rules to purposefully rile him up). Spanny would be a great, intelligent fellow to chat with if it wasn’t for his OBVIOUS bias for some players (Kukoc) and his blind hatred for others (Iverson).
T-Mac can’t be there either.
Ron Artest shouldn’t be there, but Ariza deserves consideration.
considering he has been a fan favorite many years in the past it’s okay to see some of his ol’ fans show him love.even though it may not be realistic and practical.
the thing is its pretty sad to see such great talents never see the daylight of their maximum abilities.
Greg Oden
i really wish he gets back soon and healthy
