Playoffs? Who cares about playoffs? This totally makes Boston the most NOW team in the East.

What about the Timberwolves getting the best of this deal when it’s time for the 2009-2010 playoffs?

  • Mo Charlo Posted: Jul.31 at 4:51 pm
Madtice, wouldn’t that be something. Still, the East should be very, very afraid.

I think the deal works out decently for both teams. The T-wolves were going nowhere this year with or without KG. So now they can play their stable of young guys and start from scratch. I actually like the young team they have but it is going to be hard to keep the young guys happy with minutes however. The T-Wolves would probably love to trade Davis to open up some minutes for guys like McCants, Brewer, Green, and etc but Davis is their only proven wing scorer. For the Celtics adding KG with Allen and Pierce would have really tight if it we were heading into the 2000-2001 season but with as terrible as the east was last year the Celtics have risen to the top of the conference. They just better hope that Rondo is ready to play starter’s minutes at the point. Brevin Knight would be a great pick up for the Celtics.

  • Dblizzy! Posted: Jul.31 at 5:44 pm
the Lakers signed Coby Karl! holy sh*t

  • luckyluciano Posted: Jul.31 at 6:19 pm
Ehh.. Lets see how it all works out before we start sucking each other’s you-know-whats, lets not forget that there are a number of teams that have multi-stars, BUT do not have the chemistry together..

  • John Posted: Jul.31 at 6:37 pm
    Coby Karl deserves the Respect.

  • DeVAndrei Posted: Jul.31 at 6:40 pm
well now the balance of big men on both coasts are somewhat equal now

  • dwright Posted: Jul.31 at 6:43 pm
the atlantic division is gonna be hard. The raptors and the celtics will battle it out. but I have to give my props to boston they may win the division.

  • slim Posted: Jul.31 at 6:52 pm
Celtics will only make the first round…they won’t do much…Seattle will prolly get farther in the playoffs then Boston

  • JDN41 Posted: Jul.31 at 7:03 pm
ITS BOSTON DYNASTY ALL OVER AGAIN BABY

  • KMG Posted: Jul.31 at 7:11 pm
McHale finally did something right…best of luck KG, and congrats to the Celtics. The East is gonna be fun this year.

  • Joel O's Posted: Jul.31 at 7:37 pm
I think chemistry shouldn’t be a problem – especially because KG is a big guy. I think star-ridden teams don’t work when you’ve got too many outside / wing players who don’t share the ball well enough: the present-day Nuggets, the old “Big Three” in Milwaukee, the Antoine-Pierce-Payton Celtics, etc. A great post player like KG can only make the game easier and complement Jesus & PP. They need a bench though…

  • Igor Posted: Jul.31 at 7:53 pm
I’m really glad for KG to have a chance to do something while it’s not too late 4 him, but there are still a lot of ?s on Pierce and Allen’s capability!!!

  • Russ Bengtson Posted: Jul.31 at 8:00 pm
Kudos to bay area for his astute comment. Also, this is a better Celtics team than the one that made the Eastern Conference Finals—I don’t care if they have a bench or not. I think I’ve come around on the whole thing—f*ck the future, try and win RIGHT NOW. I still think the Bulls come out of the East next year, but the road just got a lot lumpier.

  • luckyluciano Posted: Jul.31 at 8:08 pm
Blood Sugar Sex Magik- GO CELTICS!
Havent said that since ’93 and it feels goooooooooooooooood!!!!

  • Ben Osborne Posted: Jul.31 at 9:43 pm
Russ, speaking of the Bulls—THAT’s who KG should be playing for next year.

  • grarw Posted: Jul.31 at 10:19 pm
WHO THE F*** Is Jesus Shuttlesworth?

  • thesubwayconnection Posted: Jul.31 at 11:34 pm
grarw, Ray Allen is Jesus Shuttlesworth. Watch He Got Game. Great movie. That being said, I think Boston could make the ECF, but I’m thinking second round. We’ll see how the other two players on the floor fill their roles.
