Streetball Legends Renew China Tour

S.K.Y. (Serving Knowledge to Youth), the streetball syndicate based in China, announced its renewal for a summer tour earlier this week. Lots of notable streetballers (Spyda, Helicopter, 720, etc..) will showcase their talents during a three-week tour in the upcoming months. From S.K.Y:

SHANGHAI, China (April 9, 2011) — S.K.Y. Streetball Syndicate today announced a two-year renewal with VOIT and in-territory promoter Shemgod for a three-week tour throughout China in August 2011.

The deal, which will include licensing and retail extensions, will run through February 2013.  Exact tour details and locations will be announced next month.

The deal with VOIT will include naming rights for the tour in China using S.K.Y. Streetball Syndicate players. VOIT will also use S.K.Y. Streetball Syndicate marks in point of sale merchandise and on-site sales during the five-game tour.  The team is made up of some of the top streetball players in the world and will include eight players highlighted by Dennis “Spyda” Chism (Atlanta, Ga.), Pat “Da Rock” Robinson (Baltimore, Md.), Taurian “720” Fontennette (Hitchcock, Texas), and Terry “T-Dubb” Cournyea of St. Paul, Minn, Earv “I’ll Be Right Back” Opong (Bronx, NY), John “Helicopter” Humphrey (Morehead City, NC), Aaron “AO” Owens (Philidelphia, PA) and James “Big Swoal” Rhodes (Wilmington, NC).

The tour’s promoter within China is Shemgod of Shanghai. The Tour will be known as the S.K.Y.-Shemgod China Tour presented by VOIT.

“Last year’s partnership with VOIT was highly successful and has produced the opportunity for S.K.Y. to partner again with Shemgod and renew its relationship with VOIT. It will afford us the opportunity to take it to the next level and create a streetball revolution in China,” said S.K.Y. Streetball Syndicate’s president Lee Greene.  “We have several other sponsors interested and will announce a few extensions to this agreement within the next 30 days. It’s an exciting time for S.K.Y. and its assigned players.”

S.K.Y. Streetball Syndicate was founded in 2009 and has offices in China, Bermuda and United States.
