S.K.Y. Streetball Announces Tour, Licensing Deal with Gatorade in China

SHANGHAI, China (July 26, 2011) — The S.K.Y. Streetball Syndicate today announced a two-game sponsorship and player branding deal with Gatorade for the territory of China.

The two-game Tour is an extension to a five-game swing for the S.K.Y. team in China next month.

The deal, which will include licensing and retail extensions, will run through February 2012. Four players, including Dennis “Spyda” Chism (Atlanta, Ga.), Pat “The Rock” Robinson (Baltimore, Md.), Taurian “Mr. 720” Fontennette (Hitchcock, Texas), and John “Helicopter” Humphrey (New Bern, NC) will appear on labels of Gatorade throughout the China.  A 30-second television commercial featuring S.K.Y. players has already been running nationwide since June.

The “Gatorade Ultimate Streetball Challenge” will kick off with a game on August 5 in Shanghai. The S.K.Y. team will play against the Street China All-Stars, a team of top streetball players from across China. The event will also feature an appearance with Miami Heat superstar Dwayne Wade as the honorary coach of Street China and will be broadcast live on Shanghai G-Sports TV.  The second game of the Tour will be on August 10 in Guangzhou China.  That game will also be broadcast live on Guangdong Sports TV.

The S.K.Y. Streetball Syndicate was founded in 2007 and has offices in China, Bermuda, and the United States. The team has played in front of sold out audiences in over 10 countries.
