The SLAM Shop is Open for Business

Rep SLAM all day long.

by Ben Osbornehoodie

Over the years I’ve gotten countless requests from friends, family and readers for SLAM gear (not just for free stuff—even just a place they could buy it), and unfortunately, my ability to fulfill such requests has been erratic at best. Since we’ve never had a steady source of SLAM products, it usually depended on if some random company had done us a favor and made us some shirts or whatever. Often, like for the past couple months, our proverbial cupboards have been dry. A few companies (not naming names) have promised shirts recently, but they certainly haven’t made it to the office yet.

Well, with the help of our parent company, SLAM is getting its act together. You may have noticed we added a link for The SLAM Shop at the top of the screen in the Magazine tab and at the bottom of the screen next to the current cover a couple weeks ago. Then yesterday we “hard-coded” an ad for the Shop with a link to the homepage, and there should be banner ads running any day.

What is The SLAM Shop? Run through cafepress.com, it’s a place where you can get one of two designs (traditional SLAM logo or SLAM Respect the Game logo) on everything from tees to hoodies and mugs to BBQ aprons (perfect for Father’s Day!).

So, what are you waiting for? Head to The SLAM Shop right now and pick up all the SLAM items you, your friends or your family members could ever want.

is it really bish made fool that I plan on getting my lil dog foxie a slam dog shirt? I know that’s a foul move by a so called macho man. But real talk.

  • donovan

Pretty sick… thanks for doing that.

How about a montage embossed t-shirt with issue 32, etc. covers? :)

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

    That’s Liberace-esque Justin.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Justin Walsh

    Eboy. It really is.

  • TADOne

I’ll take two of everything, please.

Donovan: there was a company that made cover tees a few years ago but there were some legal concerns as to the rights to sell something with an NBA player’s image on it, so no cover tees for now.

I wish I worked on a points system for each comment I’ve posted like they used to do back in the old days with those stamps to trade in for sh*t. Trade up points for SLAM gear? I’d be KILLIN’ that sh*t.

you really think i need a shirt to rep SLAM? Beside the dope magizine cover shirts (which you guys are not selling?!) that i own, i dont think a logo or any of that would be necessary.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

    BET is in denial.

amazing that some people are still complaining. I think it’s pretty cool! Since I don’t have a credit card, I wonder if I even possible for a dutch guy like me to get one…. hmm….

Did a term paper/report on Cafepress this past semester and thought about opening a store myself, even if they’re trying to shaft store owners with price limits and caps on profits (won’t affect you guys as you’re selling direct and not in the marketplace advertising they do). Glad you guys are getting into it to. Now everyone can get something with SLAM on it, useful stuff like that mousepad there for all the commenters and linkstigating crew.

    Will blog for hoodies…

In the un-useful stuff category you got the boxer shorts, but not the thong underwear. Someone is going to buy it, no reason not to put that one up too. And yeah the Cover shirts (in gigantic sizes left only) sure went fast from Finishline/Champs/Footlocker the rest. Didn’t know about that player likeness legal thing, probably why they were RTV’ed then. Hope your photographers and artists who put together the covers still got their share.

Hey SLAM, shall I email you my address so you can send me one of everything since I’ve been advertising for you since Ish #1? lol.

I just like how the one thing that a basketball magazine website is NOT selling is basketball jerseys. Thats definetly not ironic

  • http://www.slamonline.com Blinguo

Watch your back at cafepress, they are ripping off commissions from shopkeepers like yourself left and right, plus they just jacked the prices way up in the marketplace. If all you ever wanted was 10% then you might be OK for awhile, but really with what they are pulling on people they ought to be boycotted. I’d love to see your designs through another company.

I don’t know the details as our parent company has made all decisions about this without discussing with our in-house staff, but the partnership has no ended. We hope to have a much better licensing partnership running soon where SLAM fans can get our gear. Thanks to those who supported the CafePress shop while it was running.
