LeBron James and the Miami Heat are Coming Soon

Our tradition of not unveiling our new covers until they are actually on newsstands is not likely to change much in the future, but the SLAM 161 cover just doesn’t make sense to keep under wraps any longer.

No debate was needed whatsoever—when the Miami Heat won the 2012 NBA Championship, they earned themselves a spot on the cover of SLAM 161. And of all the great stories the team produced, there was none better than LeBron James finally winning that first ring; when it was time to pick an image for the mag’s front page, our focus moved right in the direction of the most compelling athlete on the planet. We’ll have a more comprehensive preview up next week, but until then, check out the cover of our next ish below.

Cool looking cover, but seriously- “Hi Haters?!?! What, did you have a 13 year old girl come up with this caption?? Anyways, congrats to Bron and the Heat…

LOL at Bernie who just had his moment. In fact Bernie WAS the moment for a sec. The only thing you let anybody have anything was when you got turned out in the pen. :-) Kinda like the Thunder , you took it well up until a point, when the guards were invited to what could have been called a circuss act exept you were not swallowing fire. A.T.M.A. son ! Was tha worth the lolipop you got caught stealing ?

If SLAM wasn’t so madly in love with “Bron” and his ability to sell magazines they would realize A) he is one of the most amazing basketball players to have ever played the game AND at the same time B) he picked the pathetic easy road to winning championships by joining a team so stacked that even when Chris Bosh is completely out for the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the playoffs, Miami still wins the title.

T.P. you are fit for the Bung Hole no doubt.

I had a feeling Miami Heat would rise to the top of the food chain after those allblackeverything uniforms were unveiled before the start of the season.

I don’t believe LeBron should give any attention to his so-called haters though.

I think Lebron should have his ring sized for his middle finger…Let that be the cover, no words required!

  • LawDog

Wait….where are the refs that helped him win??????
