Check out the new cover of SLAM 168, featuring the all-powerful King James.

LeBron James covers SLAM 168

As you can see, none other than LeBron James is on the cover of SLAM 168. We’ll have a full issue intro up next week—including some details from our Editor-in-Chief’s exclusive sit-down with the Miami superstar, which took place after the Heat’s recent victory in Boston—but until then enjoy the cover, pictured above.

Needless to say, I’m pretty excited about this one!

He also hasn’t been on one since July. Think he’s earned it.

  • ChosenOne

Which player currently holds the record for most covers in the magazines 19 year history Ben? I believe both Kobe and LeBron both now share the lead with 17 each. Is this right?

  • spit hot fiyah

think u missed out on some sales then

  • jeff

if he cant play every NBA game at age 28 while healthy , why we wanna see his ugly face on cover !!

  • logues

this will generate huge sales… but, the heat did just win 27 games straight and lebron has been unreal this season. i’m not really even a fan of lebron, but this is easily one of ur sweetest looking covers ever.

I should probably know this by heart, but I don’t. And I’m not in the office today to check. I think wiki does a pretty good job of recapping here: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slam_Magazine#section_4. If you count special issues then MJ is definitely first. But reg Slams I think Wiki is on point.

    he earned it for sure

  • LakeShow

Well deserved. Wish he had better dunks though. lol. Yes that’s my complaint at this point.

Dope cover. The way he’s been playing he definitely deserves it. But then again, if they win it all in the playoffs..He’ll be here again. lol

what i like about this cover is it’s kinda lebron’s signature “move.” We see this dunk countless times and it never seems to get old. Kinda like MJ’s fadeaway J is his signature move, when i think of lebron, I think of this dunk.

  • LakeShow

See, that’s where i’m different. I was tired of this dunk after his rookie year…

  • RipCity

for real SLAM? Better than anyone we’ve seen doing it? If you mean as a power player Shaq was superior and overall game MJ was…

  • RipCity

don’t get me wrong btw, lebron deserved the cover. I just disagree with the byline

  • Max

Is this the dunk from against the Knicks in MSG?

  • Jacob Nelson

I just noticed that his shoes are no longer ugly. I don’t think I’ve noticed a pair of them since 05.

  • JML-G

honestly, im still waiting for Lebron, Bosh & Wade cover – guess SLAM keeping when Heat three-peats ;)

  • Hingle McCringleberry

LeBron has very well developed quadriceps. I wonder if he allows people to touch them?

Make sure yall check out our Ad in this issue of SLAM. http://www.Ballalldaylong.com.

with them nike’s on…he probably feels like he is taking off from a trampoline, I mean have you wore these yet? they feel amazing!! I got the Blue Diamond ones

I think the way his legs are bowlegged alot don’t make his dunks look good. Upper body is great, nice extension, but the legs are just awkward.
