Contest: Where Brooklyn At! T-Shirts

Leave a comment, win Dream Team gear.

In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the USA Dream Team’s romp through Barcelona and the 1992 Olympics, Where Brooklyn At! and Bobby Joseph® collaborated on a limited Dream Team t-shirt titled “Brooklyn to Barcelona.” There were two Brooklynites on the Dream Team—Chris Mullin and Michael Jordan—and their jersey numbers are both placed on the back of the shirt.

In addition, the apparel company released a second commemorative shirt titled “Flight ‘92.” The shirt features the airport code of Barcelona in red foil with a large 1992 in white across the chest. The gold foil stars on the bottom finish off this shirt which will be sure to please basketball fans and sneakerheads alike.

All you have to do to enter the contest is sign up for the Where Brooklyn At! newsletter (here), and leave a comment below with your favorite Michael Jordan and/or Chris Mullin ’92 Olympic moment.

Two winners will be picked by this Friday, August 3, and contacted early next week. Good luck!

All of Michael Jordan’s dunks were ill

  • Jordan

My favorite Mullin 1992 Olympic moment is the 21 points he scored in the win over Puerto Rico in the quarterfinals.

  • Dylan Prezkop

My favorite Michael Jordan olympic moment has to be the scrimmage vs Magic which some(myself included) believe the torch was passed to MJ. Great moment

  • Jason Staley

My favorite MJ moment from the Olympics was when he and Pippen took turns locking up Toni Kukoc. Kind of felt bad for Kukoc. But that was an awesome display of will and determination to shut down an opponent. And the Olympic 7′s weren’t too bad to look at either.

MJ looking at Drazen Petrovic before a dunk in the fastbreak, thinking “come one jump to posterize you” and Drazen stopping before taking off.

My favorite MJ moment was when MJ locked up Toni Kukoc on defense along with Pippin only allowing him to score a couple points when the US played Croatia in the Olympics

  • Anthony Iacoe

The greatest Jordan moment was during the Greatest Game Never Seen which was the intersquad scrimmage during practice. He proved to Majic that there was a new sheriff in town and he was the king of the basketball world

  • Raza Shareef

My favorite Michael Jordan moment is when he shut down kukoc to let him know that he’s not ready for the big leagues.

  • Edmund Fitzgerald

My favorite MJ moment was when he threw the no look behind the back to the Glide for the finish

My favorite Olympic 92 Michael Jordan moment was when I finally got one of those fly Mcdonald’s Dream Team cups (Air Jordan) with my value meal!!! I still have a few of those lying around today! If only McDonald’s would bring those back

My favorite Jordan moment was his fastbreak dunk against Croatia in the finals. That was pure style!

Michael Jordan’s participation in the 1992 Summer Olympics was a transcending moment in sports history. His inclusion on the team confirmed that superstars (specifically in the U.S.A.) we’re prepared to take the “plunge” and represent their country at the Olympic Games, the pinnacle of sports. Michael’s greatness and leadership qualities are unheralded but after his first pair of championship he was changing the outlook of the basketball world. Magic and Bird we’re also members on the “Dream Team” and Michael’s competitive spirit was on full display throughout all the Team USA practice sessions and training camp, as he wanted to “take the throne” as the greatest player in the world, as Magic and Bird’s career were coming to an end. Jordan was always known as a lethal scorer,(he was second on Team USA in the points deparment averaging 14.9 ppg, as Barkley led the team with 18 ppg) but what he truly proved to the world was that he could, along with partner Scottie Pippen, shut down, and guard the opposing team’s best offensive threat; most notably shutting down Croatia’s leading man, and future Bulls teammate, Tony Kukoc. Michael Jordan will always be remembered as the GOAT, and his legend was not only built throughout a stellar, unprecidented NBA career, but also as a player who transcended the game during the 1992 Summer Olympics, while showcasing the game of basketball to the world, and inspiring future NBA superstars to become great.

My favorite Mullin moment of the Olympics was when he scored 21 points against Puerto Rico

my favorire olympic moment came, not from any of the games, but from a candid moment i heard about. as i heard it, Jordan, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson were having a conversation before practice. Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing are walking towards the trio, presumably to join the conversation. Michael Jordan sensed their intentions, and promptly put his hand up and said “this conversation is for NBA Champions only,” then turned back to Larry and Magic without another word. Charles and Patrick had no response and walked away slowly

The greatest moment for both players and the entire team was that a$$ whooping they put on Angola and then afterwards the opposing players all wanting photos and signatures of the Dream Team. There will never be a more imposing team then the ’92 squad (mainly because the rest of the world has caught up somewhat).
