Like always, What’s My Name and Sure Shot are running strong. Sure it’s the off-season, but that doesn’t mean Paul Millsap shouldn’t get a nickname or Dwyane Wade and KD shouldn’t go caption-less, right?
For those who having followed the young rooks at Summer League, we’ve seen some pretty good stuff. Derrick Rose, Danilo Gallinari and Eric Gordon were good when they played, but took off most of the Summer League to nurse injuries. Michael Beasley always looked all kinds of bored. Jerryd Bayless will be an offensive star, but the jury is still out on whether he can dish it. Anthony Randolph will really surprise…if Nelly plays him. And Russell Westbrook has all the tools to be an All-Star…and he certainly wasn’t drafted too high at No. 4. Kevin Love and O.J. Mayo will prove their respective doubters wrong as they’ll land spots on the 2009 All-Rookie Team.
