Arizona Lands Top West Coast Recruit Stanley Johnson

Stanley Johnson and Arizona’s freshman stud Aaron Gordon are known to be very good friends, having played together on the AAU circuit with the Oakland Soldiers program. So when the 6-6 swingman announced live on ESPNU this afternoon his intentions of joining the Wildcats program next fall, there wasn’t much to be surprised about. Although, instead of going the traditional route and putting on a hat of the selected school, he did pull out a pair of customized Arizona Wildcats sneakers to make it official. “It’s a great school overall,” said Johnson of his decision. “The way they recruited me since my freshman year… Just the genuine nature of the coaches and the family atmosphere.” When asked if he will convince Gordon to stick around for a second year so they could play together instead of bolting for the NBA, Johnson smiled before adding, “Nah, he’s probably long gone.”
