Avery Bradley to Undergo Season-Ending Shoulder Surgery

The Boston Celtics and their fans had been fearing this news, and now it’s an unfortunate reality. Avery Bradley is done for the remainder of the postseason, as he will undergo left shoulder surgery. Reports the Boston Herald: “Avery Bradley will undergo surgery on his left shoulder today. Bradley has dislocated the shoulder a number of times during the postseason and was sidelined for Games 5 and 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the 76ers. The surgery will be performed by team physician Brian McKeon. The recovery time is expected to take most of the offseason, but Bradley should be back for next season, barring any setbacks. Of course, his absence for tomorrow night’s Game 7 is the main focus right now. ‘It’s disappointing,’ Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. ‘Obviously when a player goes down that’s disappointing and especially on what Avery has given us this year. His growth this year has been terrific. He’s become a very valuable piece to our basketball team. His ability to guard the best guard at 1 or 2 has really taken so much pressure off of (Rajon) Rondo, in particular.'”
