Baron Davis Wants Knicks Fans to Stop Booing the Team

Baron Davis went through the first practice of his New York Knicks career yesterday, and despite the rust, he emerged feeling confident about his own play and that of the team. He also wants the fans to stop lustily booing the Knicks at MSG. (Riiiiight. Good luck with that, Baron.) From the NY Post: “Point guard Baron Davis made some bold proclamations Monday after his first practice that the Knicks offense will become ‘unstoppable’ once they ‘hit their stride.’ […] ‘We’re going to have the fans behind us, even though they boo,’ Davis said. ‘They’re just passionate about winning. All we ask is for their patience and to keep supporting us, because the booing is not going to really help us think through things.’ … Davis knows, despite his rusty return to practice Monday, that [Mike] D’Antoni and some fans view him as this season’s savior, which might be unfair. He’ll likely make his Knicks debut on the road, perhaps in Miami Friday or Houston Saturday. ‘There’s a lot of expectations that I’ve never had in my career,’ Davis said. ‘But I’m up for the challenge.’”
