1980 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team Captain Mike Eruzione to Join More Than 40 Other Hall of Famers and Special Guests in Boys’ Club Fundraiser
NEW YORK, October 30, 2007 – Mike Eruzione, captain of the 1980 “Miracle on Ice” U.S. Olympic hockey team, will join ten other New York All-Sports Hall of Fame inductees and dozens of sports heroes, past and present, as The Boys’ Club of New York (BCNY) presents its 32nd Annual All Sports Hall of Fame Dinner at The Waldorf Astoria on October 30th, 2007.
In addition to Eruzione, the Class of 2007 includes the following inductees:

· Jim Gregory – 2007 Hockey Hall of Fame – Builder Category
· Archie Griffin – 2X Heisman Trophy Award Recipient, National Football Foundation Hall of Fame, College Football Hall of Fame

More than 40 sports heroes past and present – including members of the Basketball, Pro Football, and Hockey Halls of Fame – will attend. Among the notable expected attendees are Oscar Robertson, Walt Bellamy, David Thompson, Bob Pettit, Bailey Howell and Marques Haynes (Basketball HOF); Don Maynard, Bob St. Clair and Mike Haynes (Pro Football HOF); Rod Gilbert, Harry Howell, William Torrey and Frank Mahovlich (Hockey HOF); and New York Yankee Mariano Rivera (Baseball).
“This year’s inductees, honorees, and guests are true role models for our young boys,” said Brad Zervas, Executive Director of BCNY. “They are not only legends in their respective sports careers but also, more importantly, many are known for making a difference in the lives of others and inspiring all of us in our everyday lives.”
Mike Eruzione, Captain of the 1980 “Miracle on Ice” U.S. Olympic Hockey team, is the Northrop Award recipient, presented to the individual whose qualities of leadership, love of sports, community involvement and personal friendship have served as an inspirational guide to young people everywhere.
John J. Mack, Chairman and CEO of Morgan Stanley, will be presented with the Harriman Award, an award given annually to the individual whose generous use of time and energy provides young people with the example of the best in sport and contributes substantially to maintaining sports as an important part of American life.

The Boys’ Club of New York’s All Sports Hall of Fame Dinner was first held in 1976 and has grown into the premiere Sports Dinner in the country. Each year, The Boys’ Club of New York honors the achievements and community contributions of the best in sport with the induction into its All Sports Hall of Fame of recent inductees into the Baseball, Basketball, Pro Football, Golf, Hockey, Olympic and Tennis Halls of Fame as well as candidates from the world of athletes, educators, administrators, broadcasters, journalists, and sports executives.
