Brandon Jennings: ‘I Just Feel Like Myself Again’

Brandon Jennings tore his achilles in January of 2015, then spent last season playing in Detroit and Orlando. Recently, Jennings revealed that his weight swelled up to 210 pounds while he he was rehabbing and he has worked on shedding the weight since getting back on the court last December.

It’s been a bumpy year and change for Jennings since the injury, but the point guard is on a 1-year deal with the Knicks and has been playing alongside the projected starters with Derrick Rose in Los Angeles for his rape case.

Last night, Jennings tallied 4 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds in 14 minutes as the Knicks beat the Nets in a preseason game. Afterwards, he told ESPN‘s Ian Begley that he finally feels healthy:

“I feel great. I feel faster. I hope I look faster… I just feel like myself again.”

Carmelo Anthony has also noticed Jennings’ play and said the point guard is “feeling good about himself:”

“He’s been playing like that since he was in high school. Nothing has changed. You can tell he’s feeling good about himself. He’s feeling healthy. He’s got that joy about being back out there on the court.”
