Breaking: Hornets Acquire Jerryd Bayless

Jerryd Bayless, a former first-round pick, was dealt to the New Orleans Hornets for their 2011 first-round pick. Why did this happen now? We’d guess it’s because Portland needed the roster spot to sign Fabrico Oberto (with all of theirs, aside from Marcus Camby, on the mend), and NOLA needs a backup guard after dealing Darren Collison a few months back.

Bayless has been a bit of a disappointment in Portland (with career averages of 6.8 ppg and 2 apg since entering the League in 2008), so the 6-3 guard can’t be mad at the change of scenery.
