Breaking: Nets Fire Lawrence Frank

by Lang Whitaker

In a move that surprises, well, nobody, the Nets have fired Lawrence Frank, effective immediately. The Nets, currently a robust 0-16, are in Los Angeles and play the Lakers tonight. Assistant coach Tom Barisse will coach the Nets tonight, and a successor to Frank has not been named.

If they lose to the Lakers, the Nets will tie the Miami Heat in 1988 and the Clippers in 1999 as the only teams to start a season 0-17.

No team has ever started a season 0-18. If (ha ha) the Nets lose to the Lakers tonight, their next game is at home against Dallas on Wednesday.
