Brook Lopez Fully Healed, Excited About the Brooklyn Nets

Now that the Dwight Howard trade rumors have ceased, Brook Lopez can relax and focus on the upcoming season. It also helps that his right foot is healthy. Per the NY Post: “I just can’t wait,’ Lopez said. ‘I’m glad that it was just talk and it has passed. For this moment, and for the foreseeable future, I’m here, and I’m excited to go out there with my comrades and play on the floor.’ The 7-foot center suffered a stress fracture in the fifth metatarsal in his right foot in the Nets’ second preseason game against the Knicks last December, causing him to miss the opening 32 games of the season. Then, after five games Lopez reinjured the foot and missed the remainder of the season. After a full offseason to recover, Lopez appears confident he won’t be troubled by the foot any further. ‘I haven’t been thinking about it when I’m playing,’ said Lopez, who has been fully participating with his teammates in informal workouts at the Nets’ practice facility. ‘I feel great, and I’m so excited to get back out on the floor.’ […] ‘This offseason we found some spectacular pieces, some very great players that will help create a very great team.'”
